also, ik duke is immensely evil but i can't help but feel bad from his end. he was a kid raised to kill or be killed in a power-hungry environment then being groomed by schnauder. kids like them have already fostered greed at a young stage and i cant help but wonder what if they were raised with at least a little bit of love and care, perhaps students like duke could've had better development. But that's life and we all go through it differently, and duke ultimately made his choice.

the romance is not sudden, its been literally showing up throughout the chapters. they're just bringing the spotlight on it now since it's going to be chill for awhile. although i agree tht they look more like siblings bc of rurin's immaturity both mentally and physically. i cant stop seeing her as a child lmao but the context of the story remains
