as someone who doesn't read a lot of Yuri's, do GL's contain a lot of rape content the same as many BL's do?
If not, I wonder if its because BL is men-centered which is why rape culture is so normalized.
Well like Filthiest said it's in every genre of manga even the ones that don't have to do with Romance. But the interesting thing is that a lot of BL writers are women, and a lot is catered towards women, with a lot of the readers being women.
The thing is that with more rape content and the normalizing of it in manga people who read it more and more become used to it. And so with time the shock that would come from reading that doesn't come anymore...and since there are a lot who have rape in them, and are still famous, many authors make more of the same content.
In my opinion, GL doesn’t contain as much rape as yaoi does. Of course, elements of rape culture can appear in any romance genre, but it’s clear that GL generally avoids it more. Why is that? Partly because in yaoi, these problematic tropes have been so romanticized over time that they feel normalized. Many fans also point out that yaoi is just fiction, so they see it as a safe space to explore taboo fantasies without real world consequences. On top of that, some artists know readers find these scenes controversial, which can actually make a story sell faster. (Ex: Jinx)
Back then, GL also had a lot of sexual content, but modern GL has evolved into sweeter, more wholesome romance stories with meaningful plots and relatable characters. As someone who is pansexual, I find that most GL I read nowadays feels genuinely heartwarming, and many of the artists are women themselves so they understand how traumatic and problematic it is to portray sexual assault/rape carelessly, and they choose not to.
Yaoi originally gave women a way to explore romance and sexuality outside traditional gender expectations. By writing stories about two men, female authors could break away from the typical passive female role seen in straight romance. Unfortunately, to create extra drama and tension, some stories used non consensual scenes as a plot device which became a popular and romanticized.
But this is all in my opinion so take it as a grain of salt
Fuck Im stupid what does tht chart mean
Mmmm I’m gonna gamble on this but I think that means the amount of pheromones he can smell since it’s an olfactory test he probably has imprinted with dobin and can only smell him
Actually the test sheet said pheromone index test, I think it means he's no longer producing pheromones at all (vs. Overproducing overwhelming amounts of pheromones) and it would explain why fuzzball was confused about his scent
Well either way I said it was a guess and whatever it is I think it’s gonna have something to do with imprinting
