I don't really think that Shuuji fell in Love with Tatsumi at the beginning. He was just a child who was severely abused by his previous “owner”. So, when suddenly a kind man shows up to help him, Shuuji begins to see him as his savior, the most important person to whom he owes his life. But when Tatsumi starts to abuse him sexually, He gets confused and mix things up. Actually, seems to me that the Mangaka's goal was to write about Stockholm Syndrome.
1. Tatsumi held him captive and was threatening him, escape was not an option. When Shuuji tried to, He was severely punished; In fact, whenever he disobeyed he was punished.
2. After some time, Shuuji realizes that any changes in Tatsumi’s mood could mean harmful consequences to him; so, figuring out what might set off Tatsumi's violence becomes a survival strategy. In this way, Shuuji gets to know him.
3. Adding some acts of kindness on the part of Tatsumi, and the constant verbal abuse as "you are a piece of merchandise, you belong to me"- Shuuji starts to believe that there is some kind of deep connection between them, In order to survive psychologically;
4. So, in the end, Tatsumi’s not a threat anymore, he’s Shuuji’s savior once again.
5. As Shuuji is the one who tells the story, we'll read what he believes... things and feelings created by his mind to protect itself - emotions distorted by the Stockholm Syndrome...
I'm REALLY sorry about the english -did my best- and the long text, just wanted to share my opinion =) because i think it's a good manga, a little underrated
Um, English is my first language and I don't think *I* could have explained this as well as you did. Wow, that TOTALLY makes sense! And I am so happy you did this without being victim blamey. AWE. SOME.
The second one is kind of beautiful. I can almost feel the story screaming " There is nothing wrong with being gay " Especially the last sentences "You dont have to apologize because you didnt do anything wrong except fall in love with someone .. "
I don’t think Chitose’s a bad guy (excluding rape ) . He knew that Aki was in love with him but was having trouble accepting that he’s gay. It seems to me that Chitose took those girls to their room as a warning for Aki: "Okay , so we 're not gay ? Then, what do you want me to do , to be with women? But look at how stupid it is, I don’t like women , I like you and you like me too. So stop running away and cross the damn line"
Yaaaay ...... i totally agree with you .... (^o^)/
Their story is so beautiful ..... why can't it have a little more story about them (T_T)
Looks like Mine feels just like Hitomi- Hydra. His soul loves Hiroi but his body loves Taka.I dont know, the quote "who decided that there's only one person you can love?" gave me this impression. The same goes for Hiroi and Taka, they love each other but in a different way that they love Mine.
So, in my opinion, they all love each other, each in a different way- the reason why the relationship works
