I ship Pan with red-haired guy, and to me, this is a realistic way to move their relationship forward.
I am older myself, and the feelings of distance, regret, difficulties in love, lingering feelings, and etc are very realistic.
Far from feeling disappointed in Pan, to me he seems very mature. When his old flame came back, he gave it a try to see if they could work things out and move forward. When it was clear that it was over, he said so directly and left. That's it. And he's probably pretty sad and grieving about that right now in his own way.
Yes he's jaded, cynical about love, probably guarding his heart just as Yang has. But he's not saying no to love, despite his rather transparent rationalizations for being with red-hair right now. He's hurt and healing, too, and perhaps this relationship will be just the right medicine. People can back in to love, particularly when they have been let down in the past; he seems to be lying to himself a bit about how he feels, but he's not running away. Just mho.

The raws show that Yuyang and red-hair have some history--is he one of the guys who rejected Yuyang for women? Who knows!
My point is that this actually is well and thoughtfully plotted. I have read many books that follow this template, where seemingly disparate stories converge, and it's often extremely rewarding. It does require some patience and keeping track of things, however.
I've liked this from the beginning, and that hasn't changed.

Police or letting parents know their son's a stalker weren't viable options? He's a psychopathic bully, words were never going to work. Also, why isn't asaultive psycho in jail?

I understand mom is rich, and that's an excellent point, but that was a severe crime. Byung doesn't belong in the psych ward, he belongs in jail. Also reportiing this kid's behavior to momearly on might have had some results IF she realized that the family/business reputation was at stake. I'm just thinking about the ambulance and ER crew would notice this was not exactly a self inflicted wound, and it resulted in permanent severe consequences. Thanks for the feedback and replies!

I think the Law in South Korea works differently from America? The authorities need a formal complaint first from the victim before acting. Or that they can't arrest someone (unless the crime involves a dead body anyway) when the victim didn't file a lawsuit I think. Even if it was obvious that Byung inflicted a severe injury to Yohan, if Yohan didn't choose to have Byung get arrested for his crime, then he won't.
Or maybe a lawsuit did happen but the mother negotiated with Yohan so he wouldn't go through with the case. But I doubt that. I have feeling that Yohan chose to let Byung go just so he can "finally" have peace. Or, he didn't file a case against Byung because he's friends with Gyoon and no matter what, Byung is still Gyoon's brother. Another thing to consider, Yohan was probably already convinced that everything was his fault, that he caused Byung's actions, so he decided to let Byung walk off and let his own mother deal with him instead.
I mean, anything could have happened but I'm guessing with Yohan wishing to pretend Byung never existed.
Also, Byung had already assaulted a number of people before Yohan and yet he still wasn't in jail before The Incident. And it would be unlikely that these previous victims felt sympathetic with Byung because they had no personal connections with him whatsoever unlike Yohan (i.e., he's friends with Gyoon, [thinks] he caused Byung's actions, etc.) to NOT file a complaint/case against Byung. They had all the right and freedom to do so and there should have been nothing that was stopping them from making legal actions. That's where we start to think that Byung's family's power and connection played a hand right from the beginning of his series of crimes. It doesn't matter that Byung was a psycho, as long as he's not behind bars or found in a straightjacket, Byung is not sullying the family/business reputation (according to twisted logic). Plus his family has enough power to keep people silent about his sins I think.

Ok,now we realize that Kyungsoo is just as twisted. He made the decision to stay with Yule when directly told that if he was loved, he would be destroyed. He. Knows. Why. The. Rape. Happened. He's known all along. Wtf.

So tue... this discovery has really shaken me... Like... obviously Yule was treating him like an object from the beggining and Kyungsoo was acting all naive... but, He even listened to this conversation with no reaction??? This chat was so scary...
I guess the aim is to make us think how innocent and naive MC was back then... but that is the biggest red flag ever shown...
Hot lovey-dovey fluff gives me life!
