Now, I just check on it sometimes, or read the comments under this manhwa. If it gets completed, maybe I'll reread it from the top again :))

1. I think the system is being controlled by "celestial beings" like any other manhwa with a similar plot.
2. When he was stuck in the rift, which is like a different dimension it basically deleted his existence on earth. Thus, not being on the system for 8 or 9 years idk. So when he got out of the rift, his existence was activated again on the system
Example: System (Game) - Earth (Online) - Rift/different dimension (Offline) - *got out of the rift* Earth (Online)
3. The rankings is updated every year (? I guess since they know which date to wait for it) and he got out of the rift before the ranking updated, so he got included in the evaluation of the ranker's activities/contribution/points/experience idk anymore haha
4. The use of the S-class weapon could help a hunter advance in the ranking because S-class weapons have more impact which could help them more on their fightings.
More impact/damage = more points/experience (?) = more chances of advancing in the ranking
5. MC is so OP that even after 8/9 years no one can compete with his overall activities/points/experience which made him #1 again.

I read a tiny bit of the novel so I don't know either but I did learn the system doesn't go offline in the gates, and people use the system to see if people in gates are still alive or not. That makes this situation even weirder to me.

To answer your teory number 3,4&5 are basically how it is… J when he was active, sacrifice his time to help people that even when lower ranking people are able to go in the rift, they call for him. At some point he just became a Killing machine for others. A person they could sacrifice for the peace of world. Yes he was a hero who was mercilessly used for the comfort and life of normal people because nobody other than him could do it.
Regarding him being in the rift. That is a more complicated one. So supposedly current timeline is third timeline. In first timeline Sa-young died before Eui-Jae and Eui-Jae turned back time and the pivot was he himself and his watch. The very watch he gave to grandma as a compensation in start
In second timeline Eui-Jae died before Sa-young and Sa-young became a wreck waiting for apocalypse
Now the current timeline is third. It's different from other timelines cuz of west sea rift where mc went missing. That point changed a lot of things. Things are different because the watch is a one use item but sayong repair the watch not completely and everything became a mess where some people can see what happen in the past life and are thinking they got revelation of the future

I've been reading this story for as long as I can remember, and I just want to know why each chapters are so short and it would took months/weeks for it to update. I'm not complaining (okay maybe I am coz I'm impatient af) but like is this really how it works? Like is this how it normally is? Unlike other chinese manhua that would update weekly or have long chapters, is this like a DIFFERENT TYPE OF MANHUA where it would only be updated for weeks with short chapters, because I also noticed it has the same pattern for 19 days (manhua)
It almost feel like one of those online comics posted on different sns with short updates. Maybe its styled like one of those?

When I reread this I skip the official translation because they only use the different name in that update. I swear the names used in the official update is ugleeyyyy FOR ME hhahhaha

This is complete, yes. Never look at this site's status of completion when you want to know whether something is complete or not – just do a quick search on the web. Mangago nearly never marks a series as complete when they are completed.
