This has been one of my absolute favorite series, for nearly a decade. The plot, the characters, and most of all the art, are all sublime. It’s one of a kind and has reached so many people through the years. There will never be another series nearly as perfect as Berserk.
I first learned of Kentarou Miura’s health problems a number of years ago and knew it was more a matter of ‘when,’ not ‘if.’ I thought I had accepted it and prepared, but I was very, very wrong.
I’m not the type of person to grow attached to people, much less celebrities/authors/etc. But when I heard of his passing, I cried. I cried for a good while and even as I type this, tears are finding their way out.
He’ll be sincerely missed and much beloved, for many years to come. Not just by me, but by everyone who’s enjoyed his works. I hope, wherever he has gone, that he is happy and without pain.
Thank-you, Kentarou Miura, for existing, living, and creating this work of art.
Rest In Peace.
Story Time!!!
A long time ago, I was a super active Hidan role player. One of my early partners sent me this, and I LOVED it! I adore Hidan’s zero-fucks-given attitude, and I’ve always had a not-so-secret, secret head cannon about Kakuzu!
Ready?
Kakuzu is easily embarrassed, and like a lot of people inexperienced with emotions, he lashes out in rage! But.. It’s Kakuzu.. Literally the OG of sadistic characters, so course people are gonna end up dead! Hidan is just the lucky bunny who CAN’T die! Thus leading to a weird, fucked up, totally wrong yet, perfect OTP
I totally ship this. I love Hidan. I ADORE Kakuzu. But Kisame will ALWAYS be my number one! (´⌣`ʃƪ)
I’m trying to figure out the ending, and I’ve narrowed it down to two possibilities.
1) The blond guy, never died. They never showed his corpse, and he was still in good enough condition to get out of the way on his own. He later returns to continue where he left off with the dark haired dude.
2) Blond dude’s dead, and came back as an angel of death of sorts, to claim the dark haired dudes soul, and trap him in an eternity of torture.
The first one is far more likely, but my f*cked up self, really wants it to be the second one. XD
Brother’s Without A Tomorrow is seriously the best. They always make me cry, but always make it feel better by the end. Their art is always beautiful. Their stories are always unique. You always feel something with every piece.
As a writer, I can barely hope to be half as talented as they are.
