Lavender's feed

Does anyone have any spoilers about if Philomel's past gets out? I think the thing that's bothering me the most is how all the other characters (other than her mage bros and dad who just openly support her and accept her) don't understand her desperation to escape the palace and it kind of annoys me. I feel like if anyone investigated they would surely find out the rumours and mistreatment that occurred when she was younger and understand her feelings (is there something in the novel that explains why this doesn't get out?). My girl literally ran for her life and when was forced to come back was clearly scared/petrified. I don't understand why this hasn't made anyone question their sense of reality (like red flag?). If a child I watched over for a long time tries to run away and desperately escape and believes their father hates them (will possibly kill them) and they don't have a place in the house where they grew up, I'm searching EVERYTHING and EVERYONE, I don't understand how people can chop up something like that to a 'simple misunderstanding.' Like NO ONE misunderstands being hated, especially intensely hated, unless there was an external factor somewhere that caused it (and then why aren't they trying to find that). Children also don't act out, without a reason. Why do they keep acting like she came up with these conclusions out of nowhere?? He's also openly has a terrible character, like he's not a good person?! So why are people surprised when the one person who he supposedly dotes on, comes out and says he's not a good person?

I also kind of wish that the dad's horrible behaviour at least gets known by those close to Phil because I don't like that everyone acts like that he's a caring father who just has a hard time openly expressing his emotions when in reality he literally just neglected and abused her all of her childhood (and literally threatened her and told her to live like a dead rat). I want people to hold him accountable for his crappy behaviour and stop making excuses for him. Especially the fiance- I'm hoping he makes the realization that young Phil didn't study because she knowingly knew she was hated/neglected and they didn't care what she did, not because she was loved/spoiled (idk that misunderstanding especially doesn't sit right with me).
