This man has mommy issues and literally just projects his issues onto the MC. The whole you can't die because I'm upset someone close to me died thing? And now violent intense jealousy directed at her 1 friend/servant. His feelings are literally only about him. Does he even see our mc?
Idk if any of you have read Kill the Villainess (please do it's a 10/10), he gives me the same creepy vibes as those 3 cretins in the story.

Ok, this is going to sound controversial but the brother kind of irritates me??
I understand when they were children he had a hard time navigating their family dynamics and how to approach his sister.
But he keeps saying he wants to be close to her but everything he does seems lacklustre??
It gives very much the stereotypical FL, 'everyone is a friend' energy (I'll win with my bubbly personality), like he gives no real solutions to anything?? He just tries to be super smiley while not really acknowledging or helping her with her pain or current position??
For most of the story, he has turned a blind eye to her mistreatment (kind of trying to smile it away??), he doesn't stand up to their father and doesn't really plan to stand up to him either.
Even with the disability clinic/center Dorthy did most of the work.
He somehow doesn't know who Ethan is, when he's like Dorothy's only friend. (I would argue theon is more the crown prince's friend vs Dorthy's)
He also didn't know if Dorthy had a date to her own debut ceremony. Which is clearly super important??
And during the most recent incident, he stepped between Dorthy and Ethan but not Dorthy and the blue psycho guy??? when he knows there was an incident between her and the guy before???
He also isn't reliable either and Dorthy constantly has to look out for him and lecture him.
So far the most he's done for his sister is force his love on her, very poorly. And try and make her hang out with his friends. Which makes sense when he was a child, but now as a teenager/young adult I'm kind of like????
Also shouldn't he just be more involved in general?? How is he the crown prince and does not know anything going on?? And if he wants to improve their relationship shouldn't he be wanting to keep tabs on her? To make sure she's safe and being treated ok?? Or shouldn't he be working to build stronger connections with others so he can help her out??
Either way, I'm confused. If anyone has insight it would be helpful. Thank you for listening to my rant

Yeah the part where he stops ethan and not blue hair guy was stupid. I guess the author wanted plot point but didnt make sense. brother is an annoying character to have in your life like I wouldnt be able to handle someone that has everything I dont have to give me pity love :(( and especially the one I didnt ask for. Dorothy was always super clear that she wanted nothing to do with him.
He couldve kept his distance and Just stood by her when the king was doing awful things. He was a child or not you want to protect your siblings instinctivley. Valid rant I think he gives spoiled brat vibes.

Yeah, I hated the brother as well but then again, as you said, I remember that they were literally kids and he didn't know any better. He's powerless compared to their useless father and he didn't know that he put his hands on Dorothea since she hid it so well.
I think it's just not written or translated well, but he's really grown on me ever since Dorothea confessed that he wanted to unalive him because she was jealous of him. I think he expresses his love in a different way, regardless of how useful it is to MC at the moment or not. He has A LOT of growing up to do and honestly, I hope his character develops, but still maintaining that childlike naivety of his.

I want him to develop SO badly (while also keeping the naivety). I think the most annoying thing is I really like him so the lack of character development hurts each time.
*insert the I was rooting for you! We were all rooting for you! meme*
Also, it's starting to feel like they are purposely making him incompetent to show that Dorthy would be a better ruler than he is and I don't want that. While it's 110% true, I don't think it's fair to force her into that role again.
The uncle is worried about the nephew's well-being and not that he's a crazy bastard who ruined someone's life ??
Also then wth why did he give the uke attitude when he knows it's the seme that's forcing the issue???
