I didn't like the ML at first because he didn't even realise that he was neglecting the FL. I wanted him to grovel if he wanted to get her back but he's just completely clueless and prideful when it comes to communication. But now the FL is also slightly confusing. I get that she's misunderstanding because of his ignorance but he and the princess did try to clear the misunderstanding (as idiotic as it was). She keeps reinforcing in her mind that the ML likes the princess even though he said that the princess is only a friend. I'm not saying she has to forgive him. She's finally independent and figuring out what she wants to do with her life. But I'm just confused why she refuses to even question or doubt the situation. It's like she doesn't want to resolve this with the ML. But the ML really needs to put down his pride and try harder if he even wants a chance with the FL.
I think she is so stuck on the idea that the ML is in love with the princess because actions speak louder than words. He treated her so badly and ignored her for so long that now, suddenly, his actions have changed, it’s a little too late for that to matter
Also, it's a little hypocritical of him to only start trying to repair their relationship now that there's definitely no chance at him staying by the princess's side, at least from her perspective. Sure, WE the reader know he didn't mean for their relationship to be taken like that. But all SHE knows is what he's said and done for the past year and a half. He prioritized the princess without ever explaining himself to her. He stopped responding to ALL of her letters unless it was an event. He basically spent no time with her at all, not even sharing lunch together, which is shown by multiple people to be unthinkable. Not just careless or cruel but UNTHINKABLE. As in, even in marriage contracts, with zero feelings involved, THEY would still have lunch together OCCASIONALLY. (Implied at least monthly or bimonthly.) He didn't even bother to decline her tea invitations but just didn't show up. That's directly said in chapter 1. Meaning how many times did she sit there as the tea gradually went cold and the sun slowly moved across the sky, waiting for him? Was the tea remade once? Twice? When did she stop inviting him to tea after he stopped showing up? Was it after the 3rd time? The 5th? The 12th?
We're not talking just average neglect. At least with typical neglect he would send a letter saying, "I'm busy" or "next time." But he doesn't. At least with neglect, he would show up late to lunch, once in a while, but he never even made that much effort. And since I'm obsessed with this story and having reread it several times, it's also implied that he's basically never asked her out to any event. He's simply let her make all the first moves. And mind you, they had a healthy relationship BEFORE school started, so this would be even MORE if a slap in the face. He USED TO go to every tea party she invited him to, until he started spending so much time with the princess. He USED TO reply to most of her letters, until the princess became the priority. He used to do things with her and enjoy her company, without ever bringing up the princess. But now that the fiance is showing up and everything is confirmed, he suddenly wants to improve THEIR relationship? I'd be skeptical, too.
Do I want things to eventually turn around? Yes. Am I cringing hard over the last chapter? Ofc. But HE brought this all upon himself. If you reread it, pay attention to the faces of everyone as they hear just what he has and HASN'T done. When he mentions never having eaten with her, even his friends look horrified. One of them straight up says that it's impossible for him to recover from that. Sure, it's a "funny" scene but it's also a "show" scene, too. This manga, at least so far, has balanced show and tell fairly well. I love me an oblivious himbo but I think it's fairly justified for her to not instantly believe him when he's shown her this whole time that he has one priority and it's not her.
And if you think about his efforts to repent and show that he has changed, he really hasn't done that much. His friends, the princess and the other couple are more proactive in their advice and actions than him. I know that he feels despair, because he finally manage to realize how much he messed up and he doesn't know where to begin, BUT he still hasn't try to have an honest conversation with her. Even if she right now is not available to listen he could still keep trying to explain and ask for forgiveness, but at the first disappointed he gives up
This is just too long. It just looks like a cash grab now. It's like the author or the studio realizes that this is popular so they don't want to end it and milk it as much as possible. It's very weird, almost all the side characters are getting their own backstory, her pregnancy goes on for eternity, new plot points are being added left, right and center..... it would've been perfect if they ended this with Navier's pregnancy. I didn't even like Soveishit's amnesia arc. Now this is just making me tired and bored.
Soveishit's amnesia is also a split personality cuz one part of the day he is his old self while the other he from young
This literally follows a novel, nothing is added that's not already in the novel so no it's not a cash grab
Then how much longer do we have to wait to see the child as in chapters
