what makes hak's panel hurt even more is that everytime yona lost someone, hak lost them too—his father figure, his best friend, his dragon friends— literally everyone and he takes it just as hard it's so refreshing to see a male lead whose world doesn't just revolve around the FL and doesn't care about everybody else

i read the novel but not until the end and maybe i have forgotten details from past chapters, but i'm curious as to how the duke felt when the OG penelope died in the OG setup (game). was it mentioned in the novel? was he sad bc it seems like he actually cared for her even when they had a falling out?

iirc it was not mentioned how she died, it may be bcs og penny looked and acted like a dead person that made the duke think she's dead. as to the dukes feelings, he was def sad and felt regretful to the og penny though he didn't know she act died and our penny reincarnated into her. note that og penny is also our penny so basically they are the same person.

Imo he's wearing a mask like almost everybody to hide his shame and doubtfulness. Replacing his daughter didn't work to loose his grief and only hurt his sons who blamed Penelope for this replacement. But he couldn't just throw her in the streets, while doubting if what he did was right, all he did couldn't change what happened, so I guess he just gave up.
Ps: What he did was awful and Penelope suffered hunger like when she was in the streets, the only thing that changed was the pretty dresses and jewelry

hes going to fr die in the next scenario and not be able to be resurrected bc of the prophecy and the fact that several nebulae want him dead. he'll come back but not to the scenario on earth, and not the same, so his companions won't know whether he's dead or alive and have to finish the seoul scenario amd move on without him.

one thing i like abt this ML is that he never takes it *personally* when Helga wants to do things her own way. i do think that in some way, being so closed off is unhealthy for Helga, esp when there are ppl who want to earnestly help her, but she has been firm in what she wants to do, which is to build everything up on her own and the ML has only ever respected that. like, i just see no toxic masculinity here; he doesn't feel emasculated or personally disrespected as a crown prince bc the one he loves doesn't "rely" on him financially or whatnot. like, he just knows Helga so well that his love for her doesn't seem patronizing and only comes off as ardent belief that she will succeed in whatever she does. we stan a supportive man
the lot of u beefing w/ an ABUSED kid omfg
Fr. Saying "she's lived multiple lives she should have the mind of an adult" doesn't work either bc we know she's been abused and tortured for all of her past lives. If we assume the minimum she lived until her death was 6 years, she would've gone through that for 72 years - likely longer. People really treat her as just a character who should be a smart badass and complain about her being "dumb" while blatantly ignoring the literal torture she has gone though for decades like how are you supposed to have the confidence to exist and fight back when you've been told you're absolutely worthless your whole life, never having any safe space or space people to be with?
Literally tho. All her lives she died young. She would be lucky if she had reach the age of 20 in at least one of her lives. At the same time it means that she stuck with a child mind. Many regressers that died either when they’re still young or never exposed to the outside world, won’t act mature regardless of how old they are. She was never taught anything useful or how to be an adult. All her life she was living the temple. Any time she tried to run away she would still die young. She was lucky that she managed to find her adopted dad/uncle in this life.
Yep. Her age plays a role in her maturity, and sometimes people who've been severely abused regress in age - even if they've been abused in adulthood. One can imagine how much worse that is for a child with a still-developing brain.
Tbh, imo she's very strong to still have the will to fight her fate instead of succumbing to it. That should be praised, not ridiculed.
In fact she never lived more than tge age of 14 years.... only her 1rst life was full 14. After she lived 13 times 1 year... so she has maximum 27 or 28 years....knowing half wete tortured years and abuse....
