dawg why do they made the 2nd male lead so miserable? it's so pointless like all of his existence is for the sake of charlize like oh he's like that bcs charlize is a very beautiful woman who everyone wants but can't have so he serves like sone sort of scapegoat of the mains to shine huh?
and be bffr why is a child the ML?she just screams gr00mer, she's supposed to be mentally adult of a 400 years old yet she went out and gr00med this kid into a 'tyrant' huh? which part of him is even a 'tyrant'
apparently he doesn't even 'love' their child omfg someone please call pereshati and therdeo to take the child away from them

i would've give this a better rating if this was categorized as a physiological genre but NO it's a SHOUJO a damn ROMANCE!? who wants to be in this toxic relationship!? this is not a DARK ROMANCE it's a DARK GENRE KEEP THAT ON YOUR SMALL BRAIN, you can just tell how easy for men to manipulate women (or men whoever reading) and welcome them to an illusion of romance that it's okay if i ABUSE YOU! you can abuse me back, we can be shit with each other! (except it's not, the power dynamic is one sided)

I completely agree with your point. Labeling this manhwa as a romance is highly misleading because it frames abuse and manipulation as acceptable parts of love, which is incredibly harmful. The story's toxic dynamics, especially the one-sided power imbalance, do not belong in a genre meant to depict healthy or meaningful relationships. If it were categorized as psychological or dark, it would align better with its themes and set the right expectations for readers, preventing the normalization of abusive behaviors under the guise of romance.

Talking about the power dynamic, the artist had different opinion.
"On the surface, the male protagonist, who tried to obtain by force using his status and authority, seems to have the upper hand in the relationship. But deep down, the relationship between the two is completely reserved. I thought that was the core theme of the original work (novel)".
Is not it interesting every meaning-making of the full story can be very diverse? Just want to point out that one.
And as I said in another comment, I wish author and artist put this on different category. At least Mangago can change the genre. Age restriction on Naver is being discussed.
Summary should be written clearly too. We don't have it here.

That was from the artist not the author FYI. I don't think the author give any statement after the backlash.
The same author who wrote Problematic Prince & Bastian.
From there you maybe realize there's a pattern in how she wrote her main characters. Same pairing toxic & lovely MCs. Same thing with her story in general. It's a repetitive theme. But I'm thriving in toxic stories she wrote, unfortunately. I found the way she wrote stories interesting. Attention grabbing. Now that her work got the artist in trouble she should write better MCs next time.
Colleen tho'...
Ugh I don't know where to start. She literally promoting IEWU like a modern romance. From her interviews she clearly reluctant to speak about serius topic in her own books! She has all the power to influence generations but refused to do so. The issue with her son too.

girl the author (& artist for picking up this shít) better be glad they stay quiet cause international people will jump on their ass for this, i hate when people talk about how good the author write complex characters when it's clear y'all never met sansa stark my queen stood on her ground and had the last laugh and ML doesn't even have a SINGLE redeemable trait and worse he got off like not a single karma?¯_ಠ_ಠ_/¯ atleast joffrey d*ed but girl be bffr it's just straight up torture porn and if you're gonna write p0rn then just write p0rn ( ̄ε(# ̄)Σ like wdym they got a happy ending after all that abuse? FL is soooo unbearable (i hate the way she was written) like all she could do is be the perfect victim and in the end got together with her abuser sighhhh
the way the author glamorize @buse is so depressing, it just show how k-citizens would rather tolerate r*pist and @busers

alright so i saw this TikToker that basically makes content like being real life hae-soo and tbh her body is TEA i'm really hoping the artist takes inspiration cause that's how hae-soo's body should look like not skinny barbie with bbls or whatever, how can she carry those big ass badonkas with small back and shoulders

i'm so sorry but that tatto: 'the tool of suffering is attachment' made me burst into laugh who the hell would write a whole phrase onto their body like that that looks like a quote you would write on a sticky note and stick on the refrigerator for motivational support or sum but to tattoo that is like a deadly reminder what trauma this man have to do that
this is one hell fucked up family
