Is the story a bit confusing? Yeah, in the beginning definitely. The supernatural element was completely unexpected. But this is the purest, most beautiful manga I've come across in a long time. They all grew as people and overcame their traumas. It's so sweet and emotional; I cannot recommend it enough.
it's supposed to be dramatic but it's also kind of funny. It's got the ~Jane Austen~ ~regency era~ ~vibes~ rushed but meh, harlequins are also rushed. Pretty good!
Well, any modern fiction would make St. Jane's work feel rushed (I'm not being sarcastic, as I really love Jane Austin's works. Hell, even named my [formerly] male cat "Mr. D'arcy). The humour was rather broad, more what one would expect from Ms. Heyer or Ms. Austin, but it was a fairly decent read, as long as you don't think of it as a comedy of manners, a'la Heyer or Dorothy Sayers.

Truthfully, when she went back to Portugal and left her job, I was about to flip my SHIT. If she was VP of the entire company and said, "man or job? Yeah, I'll just YEET my career" I was about to fight Harlequin right now. It's good that they let her keep her job and be married, but at the same time I feel like the fact that usually the FL would have to quit their job shouldn't be the norm at all.
Make keeping your job the norm, not women giving up everything to be able to marry a man.
Whenever I read a manga where the engagement is forced, I always say that I would just yeet out of there as quickly as I could and wow, this author encapsulates all of the things I would do and how I'd feel in that situation perfectly. 10/10, stubborn as hell, hating it all, cursing like a sailor, always trying to escape. What else can you ask for? (Other than more frequent updates pleaseeeee)
this......entire situation.....could have been avoided....if they just COMMUNICATED with each other. It doesn't matter 'hOW MuCH TheY lOVeD eAcH OThEr ', a lot of grief would have been saved if he just told her, "I'm having brain surgery, I'm doing it for my health and because I want to protect you".
News flash for anyone reading this and idealizing this as their form of romance: if your partner cannot tell you something as vital and life or death as a brain surgery, they obviously don't trust you or trust how much you love them. (╬ ̄皿 ̄)
I regret spending time in the only life I have reading this entire thing bc I thought it'd get better but no, just kept getting worse. It's not bad in a sense of there's a weird thing like some of these other ones where it's rape-y or incestuous, it's normal just a girl and a guy BUT the FL is so unlikable and idiotic that I found it so annoying
so I know this manhwa is based on a novel, but the only info I've found on the novel is that it has 344 chapters. Does anyone know if the novel is completed? I always feel anxious when reading manhwas based on unfinished novels bc it is very likely the novelist will go on indefinite hiatus, which would in turn force the webtoon artist to go on hiatus when they caught up with the novel.
