It frightens me how it's not really uncommon for victims to form an attachment with their abusers. It's one of the darker conclusions of relationships, and it really makes you think in circles and go crazy because ultimately if a person is happy then that would be enough to let them go, but when their happiness is built on taboo and so much pain...oof this topic is so complicated
