This story is much darker in the original compared to waht we’re seeing in the promo. It contains a lot of abuse, trauma, and death as well as an exploration into emotions.Thankfully, it is a happy ending (the main characters) and showed that villains do get their own happy ending.

Characters to note:
Original Heroine: the princess of the empire and in the reincarnated story plot, she didn’t play a major role.
The MC: the daughter of the nanny in the duke’s mansion who is reincarnated and has a romantic relationship with the white haired brother.
White Hair Brother: the most focused on revenge and sort of the aggressive and strong ML. From young, he has a very tsundere attitude towards the MC but is very protective of all of them.
Blue haired brother: the more passive brother of the two that loses an eye during the time they spent at the tower due to him getting beaten and one eye getting beat by one of the relatives that locked them up. Eventually takes the title of duke while the other two seeks revenge.
Blue haired sister: unfortunately while she died young (in both plots) due to malnutrition, high fever, amongst a ton of other abuses, she ends up becoming the catalyst for why the siblings are so insistent on revenge and all that. There is a point in the story where after the siblings get their revenge, the daughter of one of the relatives that locked them up is spared. When she asks why (this is after she found out the reason why they were taking revenge), the MC replies along the lines of how it’s because she looks like their dead sibling, and now that she knows why they did it, the MC wants the daughter to think back on how her face is similar to the little girl her father killed.
Second prince: the villain in the reincarnated plot who likes the MC but is actually kinda dumb, one of the biggest reasons he was eventually defeated in the end was due to his involvement in the murder of the empress.
Crown prince: also liked the MC - part of the reason he later helps the siblings take revenge. Oh but I’m pretty sure he was also the one that ended up getting the siblings out earlier then in the original plot. This was cs he saw the MC from a distance once and sort of informed the king who was able to send knights over.

The original story was told from the perspective of the Heroine so the readers (including the MC) was never able to find out why the villains were so twisted, however, MC realised that the reason why they all became villains in the end was due to them being locked up in the clock tower. Their meals everyday was the same and over the 2 years that they were locked up, they were being neglected more and more. And no one ever came to look for them because the relatives had told others that the siblings all went abroad to study.

Their escape from the tower: the beating of the blue haired brother and sister all occurred closely with each other, which is what spurred the siblings to plan their escape. They planned to get out throw the mirror door which their meals were sent in from by a butler. The butler comes in as usual and is strangled by the siblings so they’re able to come out. As soon as they do, they’re found by a group of knights who was sent by the king to find them. With this, the siblings are able to try getting the help that they needed, while the blue haired brother is able to partially save his eye - which gives the MC hope for her sister to remain alive this time around - she does ultimately die. It leads to a realisation that she isn’t the main character and that villains don’t get a fairy tale ending. Unfortunately, the relatives were only sent back to the countryside and the king asked the others not to spread the word. One of the reasons was not the destroy the reputation of the serpentine family but also to not give any other nobles ideas.

The revenge: the second prince is sort of how the siblings were able to get revenge so well. He’s extremely rash, poisoned the MC in the past but likes her now, and killed the empress. Becuase of his love for the MC, she allows me to think that she’s being abused by the ML (they’re engaged or married by this point cs they’re not actual siblings), becomes a spy for the serpentine family, finds out about the secret organisation who was the catalyst for most of the horrible stuff the main characters endured. The organisation in question is called Fibonacci(?) and I can’t remember exactly what it is that they did, but they were responsible for the locking up of the siblings (because the relatives were also involved in the organisation) and the murder of the empress. The second prince and fibonacci is taken down and all of the relatives and second prince is exiled again. In order to prevent them from retailiating in the future, the ML and a bunch of others go to kill them so they all end up dying either way.

Ending: the brother that lost an eye becomes the duke of the serpentine family and is engaged to a girl who although doesn’t know what happened to the siblings in the past, is very supportive and nice towards all of them. The MC and ML get married and have two kids. and I’m not sure what happened to the Crown Peicne.

There’s a ton of other spoilers that I can’t think up of from the top of my head cs it’s like 2am right now but if you go to google and search up ‘A fairy tale for villains spoiler’ and click on the forum on novel updates you’ll be able to find plenty I wasn’t able to mention here.

I've been using mangago since April 16, 2017. Mannn my collection is my whole world. It's super messy and here and there (my acc, not mangago), but I love it. I often use my laptop for reading, so there's not a lot of differences for me. Oh, but I love the "show gap" feature! Before webtoons would always have that annoying break in between, so tha......

Beiyue is seriously irrational to be carelessly attacking the empress, like I ain’t no expert but I’m pretty sure she’s gonna pay for it and I ain’t excited for it
