where's the logic? how did they believe her so easily?? since contacts weren't invented back then then how could she hide her "red eyes" and have green ones instead???? also is the grand duke stupid? does he believe that nera is his biological child because she has red eyes???? unless he was super promiscuous when he was younger then he would at least question who her mother was before adopting her since it's obvious that she was adopted because of her eye color. are all the characters in this story absolutely brainless and gullible except for the mc and her friends? like they're always surprised when she does something remotely intelligent. it's like they except her to be that same exploitable and dumb noble girl even after she proves them wrong multiple times.
all of the minor villains excluding nera (the empress, the blonde solia, nera's dad, and now the solia's mom) seem to share a single braincell. props to nera for being smart.
however that doesn't excuse her for being a terrible person! but that's a whole other rant xx
Well contact were invented then (i think) like in between the chapters 1-5 i think did show her throwing brown contacts
And about the Duke adopting nera was because she got Iris's mother diary in which was stated that iris was the duke's daughter but when she kidnapped her maid she got the diary and changed the content and showed it to the duke
P.s-but I think the duke should've investigate about nera being his daughter and yes most of the people are dumb and stupid (pardon me for any grammar mistakes)

About the Duke, I think he might be questioning it. At the very least, he is more interested in Iris; perhaps he sees more of her mother in her. The diary is a big push for him to accept her but she could have also done it in a way to cause him to take immediate action (say, waterworks of a deplorable family that leaves her knocked up with a bastard?) I see him as cautious.
That's the maybe like who knows but I also think he's cautious of nera
