I forgot about this manga so I didn't know this is now officially licensed. I don't think the chapters will be updated here but it is now on mangaplaza.
P.S. Koyanagi is such an ideal partner!!
I feel like some readers are making the mistake to only focus on who will end up with who (though I can't blame yall I'm a shipper too).
What I like about this manga is that the unrequited love is mostly used as a device to highlight each character's insecurities and weaknesses, it doesn't necessarily mean that they will pursue or end up with their love interests.
imo the good ending of each character doesn't rely on the endgame but on how their unrequited love will develop their characters and overcome their weaknesses and insecurities.
OKAY, I find his arc and his dynamics with Hikari so interesting so ig I'll write a whole ass essay. It seems like it's heavily implied that Asagiri will develop feelings for Hikari because even from the start his gazes seem to always gravitate to her. I think his arc is introduced nicely. His easygoing, chill ass attitude (that directly contrast Hikari) is just a defense mechanism that he developed in response to his mother's dismissiveness. I guess for him, his entire thought process would be "why even bother?"
I do think that while their dynamic currently have very thick tension, Hikari's bluntness and no-nonsense attitude outright call out Asagiri's which pushes him to reflect and improve.
Saw some spoilers on ch. 10... I feel like I'm gonna die waiting
that took me by surprise. I wonder why tho. Everything seems to be going well for them
Reading this for the nth time and that last extra is the literal definition of "she talks and he listens" meme
I feel so bad for the childhood friend. I hope he moves on soon even if I like seeing him get hurt by his one-sided love lol
Both characters seem annoying and some parts are pretty cliché. But still let's see.
I don't get the hate Reika is getting. Like it's evident that she has an inflicted trauma from her father's infidelity and domestic abuse. Add to that, she just birthed a child! Inarguably, one of the most emotionally vulnerable stage that a woman can experience. It's actually great that she remained level-headed even when she was becoming suspicious AND when her husband confessed his guilt.
