Welcome to my Rant/TED Talk on the niece.
Love her, but my biggest issue with the niece is that she overestimates her capabilities. Like yes, she’s advanced for her age, but that doesn’t automatically mean she’s capable of handling certain things just because she has the power to.
I get that a lot of her actions are driven by the author using her as a plot device. But looking at her character directly, and the responsibility she holds, it’s clear she talks big and pushes herself because of deep-rooted abandonment issues. She lost her mother, was betrayed by her father, and now clings to her uncle for validation. And let’s be honest, the uncle clings to her too. He’s enabling this behavior.
She keeps throwing herself into impossible tasks to prove she belongs at her uncle’s side. It’s like when a gifted kid skips a few grades and suddenly they aren't gifted anymore and start performing horribly. Not because they’re not smart enough, but because everything else like emotional maturity, social skills, and coping mechanisms, hasn't developed properly because they aren't around peers and influences that match their overall growth. That’s the niece right now. She’s in the wrong class, refusing to leave because she’s desperate to be seen as equal to her uncle.
But if she could just step back and get the proper training—mentally, emotionally, and experientially (big word of the day, check)—she could actually grow and not be a burden. Right now, her mindset is still childish compared to her uncle’s. And honestly? That’s not a bad thing. That innocence, that belief that killing is wrong and people have good in them, that’s beautiful. She should have that, at this moment in time because,. She’s not the MC. She didn’t come from the future. She hasn’t had to fight to survive yet. So of course her first instinct is to forgive and walk away, even if it's naive in the situation.
The issue isn’t her power. It’s that she lacks the life experience and emotional growth to match it. She’s in the wrong environment for her personal development. Not her magic. Not her strength. Her mindset.
She needs to step away from her uncle and grow on her own. And he needs to let that happen. Because the longer she stays by his side, the more she’ll be dragged into situations she simply isn’t ready for.
And if he won’t let her go, then he needs to step up. He needs to teach her how to survive, how to kill, how to make the hard choices that don’t come from strength but from understanding. From realizing that sometimes the morally wrong choice is the only one that ensures you and the people you love survive.
Okay. That’s my TED Talk.

Agreed, but it's a world where even if they aren't together people will go to great lenghts to find her to exploit the mc's weakness aka her. If she is a liability to him, and she can't protect herself as you said too it's better if she is around him than away from him. But yeah. She needs peace and a normal childhood. ╥﹏╥

This! But honestly is not just jer trying to hard to stay where she doesn't belong... it's her carelessness and the fact she just doesn't lern from her mistakes! She has this massive target on her back... and insists in going around alone even after he tells her not to... and gets attacked... again and again... it's not about her not being strong enough... it's about her not being smart enough to learn from her mistakes...
She is the kind of character that makes people hate the females on action comics... just a burden used for plot device... at least shes blood related to him and not used for fanservice...

Honestly ik it's weird but what bothers me most in regards of fanservice... is how utterly uncomfortable those clothes look... they're also oftentimes physics defying too... I see those and bam... I can't take the comic seriously... stilettos in rugged terrain and clothes glued to the boobs? Yeah... that doesn't happen... of course that's ignoring all the other issues about fanservice... it all just ruins the comic...
Back to Se-ah... She got targeted by a "friend", by people that hates her dad, online, offline, learned her dad is brainwashed and the one who did it is after her, bu people with the same class/talent... saw her uncle get blood in his hands to save her... and her sorry arse still thinks it's ok for her to go around alone... afer he asked her to stay home, to be carefull and to not be alone??? Ngl at this point even if she doesn't get offed... I wish she'd get badly hurt... at least once so she understands the severity of the situation and the stupidity of her actions... it's even worse cuz at the start it seemed like she would be a good female character... with enough growth and development... I felt... betrayed...

Yeah, no, sorry Camus. I love you as an individual, but as a potential FL (at least now because before I was rooting for you), I cannot stand you. It's because she's showing signs of turning into the classic character type where a developing female character completely loses her personal motivation (and future development) so they can cater ALL their focus towards the ML. Like, girl could have been great, I was so rooting for her in the beginning. Cause yeah, she liked our MC, but it helped her improve, and she still had individual goals outside of her feelings for Vik.
But now, her whole character has been turned into the yandere girlfriend archetype. Like, I'm honestly pretty upset with the direction they went with Camus's character, and it's not even the issue that she changed— cause I do love her current powers and look — it's the reason why and the steps she took to make that change.
Like, I'm so sorry, but if someone dies, I ain't turning into an obsessed edgelord and pushing away my entire FAMILY just so I can look for a way to bring back someone I had a crush on who I believe is dead. Like, her crash out over Vik's believed death was pretty over the top dramatic, in my opinion. She did not have to go all dark and depressed dominatrix on us, at least not ONLY because of homeboy’s death.
She could have changed for so many other, more believable reasons, like for instance, she could have felt the need to grow stronger so this same incident never happens again, and so she could continue to protect the people she still has left. You know, grow stronger and become someone the deceased loved one would be proud to see. But nope, had to throw everything away for one guy and continue to recreate herself so everything about her is about MC. It's just sad. Love you in general, Camus, but they did you dirty by puahing your character into the yandere archetype.

Nah, the audacity of this man to claim Shu in front of everyone—especially THE EMPRESS AND HER DAUGHTER, WHO ARE TRYING TO KILL SHU EVERY DAMN SECOND. His ignorant ass needs to sit down and fix the MANY problems within and around the royal family before he even thinks about Shu again.
And Shu—she needs to speak up and stop being so nice and accommodating to him. She should look the Emperor in the eye and say, "No. I will not go with you because you can't protect me from the Empress, WHO IS ACTIVELY TRYING TO KILL ME EVEN NOW!"
I can't believe I ever felt bad for this man—nah, all sympathy is gone. No matter what he does from now on, unless he sacrifices his life to save Shu, it's on sight. No mercy, no forgiveness, and every effort of his will be criticized. And he needs to stop acting like he's doing everything for Shu's sake when it's very clear that his actions are just a reflection of his guilt toward her, not love.
He isn't claiming Shu as his daughter because of pure love and the desire for her safety—he's doing it because HE feels guilty, and HE wants to ease that guilt by bringing her back and paying the role of a father when he can't even father his other 2 children properly. Dude can't even go against the Empress. It's like he lives in this freaking bubble while the Empress dances around it and he doesn’t even notice.
Like, dude, come on. You can’t be Shu’s father. You can’t even be a proper king and rule your dang kingdom when the people closest to you are literally planning evil RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. Damn.
*deep breath* Okay. I feel better now. Sorry, this recent chapter just got me so irked—I needed to rant so badly.
Enjoyed reading through all the chapters, but I have one frustration.
Okay, so maybe it’s just me, but... is it the necklace? It honestly feels like that’s the one common factor across all of Ria’s lives, 1st and current, where her appearance has always been hidden while she’s wearing it. And now in the current timeline, with the necklace cracked, her mana (which used to be super low) is suddenly really high for her age. So it just makes sense that the necklace is the issue, right?
What confuses me is how she’s never taken it off. I mean, as I’m typing this, I get it. She clings to it because she believes it belonged to her parents, so of course she treasures it. But still, it seems like the necklace is doing more harm than good when it comes to her developing powers and hidden appearance. Or maybe I’m wrong, and it’s actually protecting her in some way, which is why it’s hiding her true self. Either way, I need her to take that necklace off, even if it’s just to confirm for herself that her hidden appearance is because of it. She doesn’t have to tell anyone or show anyone when she finds out. She can totally keep it to herself... and the audience lol.
Also, unrelated, but those maids are absolutely ridiculous for picking on a child out of jealousy. They’re the ones bullying her and being manipulative, then they turn around and call her awful and convincing? Hypocrites, all of them.
That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking! It’s totally the necklace. I might have had something to do with her going back too since it cracked. I’m just waiting till her original appearance is revealed!
You know what I think? Lady Dana (sorry if I spelled it wrong) but the daughter can see her true form so the drawing is actually her and that’s why she says she’s the prettiest girl in the world. I also agree with the necklace theory
