You are not crazy. It's one thing to make you a character reference and it's a whole another thing when you are used for inheritance. DH never demanded anything for JH. And it's not like DH was able to pretend he is normal. As much as JH is rightfully upset, if he wanted to save the relationship, I would think he would try to understand what's the deal with DH, and then decide whether to call it off or not.

Exactly what I was thinking...I mean this type of thing isn't EXACTLY out of left field for DH. I mean there have been plenty of times where JH got the chance to see that DH doesn't exactly work on the same wavelength as others and actually handles a lot of situations- especially social ones- differently than others. Not to say JH commodating DH is the MUST here but with how quick he was to jump to burning bridges and shutting down the conversation instead of taking a step back and working on the issue goes to show how little he really wanted to reach a solution in the first place. (Which is also pretty on base, since i feel like JH has been shown to be a bit of an emotional person before and has been hasty in his decision-making.)
Obviously there's miscommunication between the two, and if JH just dug a bit more, it wouldn't be all that hard to figure out DH has an stemming trust issue with relationships that would point him to the direction of "lets just not tell our signifigant other, it would be better that way." But idk imo they both should've recognized the other is coming into this with baggage and have been ready to work through it.
