I'm glad we finally know what was up with Jiha and Ye-Eun, but I feel like that flashback still only showed us part of what I want to know about the characters. How did she and Chulsoo become sex friends? How did she start dating Jiha? When and why did she decide to start a sex toy shop? I want to know how all this started. Give me some character development, damn it.
Reminder to everyone that this has an official translation coming out on Netcomics now. So far it's quite behind the scans, but if people actually support it then releases should stay reliable until the end. Plus you'll be supporting the artist who made this story so they can make another series afterward. https://www.netcomics.com/comic/thewarehouse
So after all the comments about Jihyun, I thought his portrayal would be somewhat sympathetic, but he's basically a textbook abuser? And I know that gets said a LOT about characters, but I think the author might have literally made a checklist using Why Does He Do That? or something. Which is honestly kinda a teachable moment, so here we go:
* Always shifts the blame onto the victim in the relationship
* Asks why the victim is "making" the abuser hurt them, assault them or belittle them and implies they'll stop if the victim just behaves the way they want
* "Gaslighting," or acting like the victim is being emotional or irrational over legitimate issues
* Angry or violent outbursts when the victim tries to put distance between them, resist, or establish boundaries
* Isolates the victim and destroys their chances of making friends
* Gets irrationally jealous
* Makes the victim live in fear of upsetting them because they don't know the consequences
* Manipulates the victim using public pressure or fear of "causing a scene" (like when Jihyun kneels in school to "apologize," even though Chiwoo says he doesn't want that).
* Apologizes after outbursts but never actually changes their behaviour
* Alternates between "lovebombing," where they tell the victim how much they love them, treat them well and/or act like they're really regretting what they've done, then go back to assaulting, belittling, or beating their partner in cycles
NOTE: It's fiction. If Jihyun's hot to you or you like him as a character, that's fine. He's not real. Just understand that this is classic abusive behaviour, learn to keep an eye out for these signs, and don't ever justify this kind of thing IRL.
NGL, I love what the comic is doing right now. It's because this series takes its time building up each arc and plot point that it's the best isekai I've read so far. Other stories would have resolved Claude's amnesia within two chapters. Who Made Me a Princess takes its time to SHOW you how each moment feels for Athy.
The uploader said they were going to wait a week before putting up chapters, but this is caught up to the current release. Which means someone jumped the gun, and the original uploader won't put up any more chapters. Hopefully that doesn't affect the schedule or anything? I kind of liked the old policy.
Anyways, I'm curious about why Black is so mad at the short-haired Hyunjin. He didn't exactly seem to like White or Green, but this is the most emotion he's showed so far. It's a little odd.
Purple getting all flustered when Doyoung defended him was cute. I wonder if Doyoung's going to slowly win all of the Hyunjins over.
I've gotta say, though, I'm more confused about Mr. Rose's motivations than ever. His speech in the latest chapter makes it sound like he's trying to prove that people who participate in the game don't really love each other, they just pick the version of someone that they like best. So his goal is for Doyoung to kill the real Hyunjin by choosing a fake.
If that's the case, though, why keep killing off Hyunjins even when Doyoung clearly doesn't want to? He'll have fewer to pick from and a higher chance of guessing right. It's not like Green had an unlikable personality. Doyoung might have picked him eventually if he'd been left alone.
Also, what's Mr. Rose's reason for running the game? We've already been shown that Hyunjin had no idea any of this would happen in Chapter 28.5, so he can't be the one doing this to test Doyoung.
I was hoping from the start that Oh Hyunwoo was her "puppy." I LOVE cute, weird, vaguely-or-explicitly bi threeway relationships like that, and the way they were introduced at the same time in the first chapter felt significant.
...I was also hoping they'd both be sweet to Sunhwee, but no luck so far. Hopefully Hyesol goes through a bit of character development; we've got two other Lezhin femdom series with MCs that treat their subs badly, I just want one that's fluffy, c'mon.
yes, same here!!! I really hope so too.(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
