It actually continues even further from there, and it's revealed he doesn't die. It's a huge drag at that point, and I dropped. But the one thing the novel did right was the finger breaking / torture scene which made me queasy but was also mildly fucking funny (yes an oxymoron) iirc. If anyone's interested in the plot, read at NU, cause the novel does it more justice, but this was also a while back for me.

I read the novel lots of time... in my opinion I would never forgive him.
reading the novel it made me frustrated more than the manga cuz Ramon was "annoyed" at Noreen cuz she was scared of him ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ plus he decide that her friend should be girls and not male (this happend after she forgave him) He was basically jealous of Brad.
I really liked Brad cuz he made ramon speechless .
