Sean was a "donor" for people that couldn't get pregnant.
So Kyle and Sean are the biological parents
I'm not sure if Sean helped Kyle and his wife with getting a kid or if he accidentally got pregnant, pretty sure that isn't specified before it ended but if I'm remembering correctly Kyle is in love with Sean and wants them to be a family with their twins, that's why he leaves home at the end?
