anyway the art is 10/10, holds up really well after all these years
and the story is sooooo good. i’m a big fan of apocalyptic stories, since it just fun to imagine the end of the world. however this is one apocalypse that i would not ever want to be in. it’s such a wonderful exploration of the human experience and of human desires. the way each monster can reflect something different is so peak and the way that hyun’d desires change throughout the story reflects our fleeting emotions is sooooo good. also the way that the survivors act is so realistic, like yeah a lot of them pissed me off, but that’s likely how real people would act in this situation
also the tension that each chapter holds is a testament to its wonderful writing. you just want so badly for everyone to live
now a personal anecdote:
this is actually my second time reading this. the first time i read this was when it first came out, in 2019. i was 12 at the time and wanted to not live. this story helped with that. hyun wanting so badly to live is one of the few things that stayed me, likely because i was going through something similar. i’m still alive, obviously, and my life is pretty good now. so i guess i have this story to thank for that.
These are complete stories from the first half of TBY: For the record, I don't use the tag Shoujo Ai as it doesn't actually have a single thing to do with yuri. Look it up people and spread the word. Anyways, these are the best of the best Yuri, so have fun! All in this collection are complete, but I have a sister list that has the on-going ones. Just FYI, the first page will change from time to time as it is made up of my top 10 favorites.
i’m currently rereading a bunch of ‘older’ villainess stories and honestly…this is one of the best.
penny actually stands on business and makes her own way forward. she is like the best example of a strong female lead
callisto is such a good ml. the way he falls for her feels organic and genuine and their dynamic is so cute
also her family? the way they grow as characters is so satisfying to read. the father actually acknowledges his mistakes and tries to make up for it, which is rare in this genre. rey feels like an actual brother
also the mystery and overarching plot (aside from penny surviving) is also very good. this story nails the mystery needed for such an arc and the way it actually impacts penny as a character is also very satisfying.
overal, this might be one of the best villainess stories out there
reread up to chapter 137 and waiting for new ones

Isekai, the usual transmigration, reincarnation, time travel etc. except, you know, it's gay
tbh since the start i’ve read this as a horror instead of a bl. it has made the experience way better because everything that has happened to cho-ah is just absolutely terrifying. i really don’t think this story should be read as a romance but as a psychological horror and nothing more
