I don't think so, isn't he actually an eunuch. Mao Mao keep repeating it in the first few page. It already mentioned the 3 prince who was born died at a young age and now only Gyouko (sorry if it's incorrect) daughter has been born.

Im not sure how far along you are or if it just missed you by a bit, but im going to be talking about chapter 34, so spoilers if you haven't gotten there yet.







In that chapter its revealed that "the person known as Jinshi" isnt really who he is. That neither he, nor Gao Shun, are eunuchs. And Gao Shun refers to him as "your highness" once. It's not outright stated, but you can make a guess that he's the prince that no one ever sees.

There's no reason to apologize. I also didnt catch everything my first time through. On my first read through I thought it was implying that Jinshi was the emperor and I was really confused. The details of the story are pretty complicated.

In the novel, it's very far ahead and the (current) manga follows the storyline quite closely (there are a few events that were omitted or shortened in the manga).

There's a scene where Mao Mao falls and accidentally touches Jinshi's manly parts and she's like, "Wtf is that? A frog?"

It's hilarious because she doesn't believe that he still has all of his packages. Also, there's a part in the novel where Gao Shun hinted and said that it wasn't good for Jinshi to continue doing something. That part pertains to the medication that Jinshi was taking whilst he was in the inner harem. Gao Shun was worried that further use of it will cause Jinshi to be infertile.

The manga is getting close to the reveal of Jinshi's true identity (maybe in like 20 more chapters or so~~ I won't spoil but it's pretty predictable) and there'll be a big change in their relationship. ;] huehuehue~

I think he's ex-Consort Aaduo's son. Mao Mao already speculated it back in chapter 18, she speculates that Aaduo swapped her son with the empress dowager's because that's what will make him safer. Which will also explain why Jinshi was so affected with her leaving and why they lookalike. I think Mao Mao's speculation was a foreshadow and since most of her speculations are correct, I'm inclined to believe that this speculation is also correct. (〜￣△￣)〜
