I've come to a point where I'm waaaaay more invested in her booming business than her romance. Whenever she makes good business move I'm hyped. I laugh a little when the Prince and Alphonse act immature and slow her momentum down. Get your bread sis.
I've seen people complain about the lack of romance/no baby/same ol business formula, but honestly that's why I've stuck around for so long and am still excited for every new chapter. Romance and families are fine, and I have no doubt that Chloe will get more of that later on, but I really like what she has now. I love me a passionate, career driven female main character.
Exactly!! I want to see more tea products, I want to see her expand her business, reinvent her products, find medicinal use, and disrupt the tea market in another country. At this point, I feel like the romance is an addition to the interesting part of this story: THE BUSINESS! We love an entrepreneur
I really wish this story had well written female characters!! Isabelle's potential is essentially wasted. She may have intelligence but we never get to see her display her skills in a meaningful way. She's getting tutored by the MC, but why? What does tutoring her do to progress the story? How does that help the MC with his goal of defeating the Demigod??
She sticks her nose into Frey's business when she has no right to, and NO REASON TO (Like on Frey's date!! You barely know the guy?? Mind your business). She feels like an out of place cheer leader, the lack of importance in her presence prevents me from feeling invested in her in any way. Having her save the MC in the recent chapter helped a bit but it's not going to replace 40 chapters worth of character development!
Come to find out, SHE'S BARELY IN THE NOVEL!! No wonder she felt like a flat character!
I thought I was being too harsh, but after reading these comments, I'm glad to see that I wasn't alone.
i didnt know this is adapted from a novel so thanks for the info about isabelle. i felt like her character was flat too.
i thought when frey said he's showing isabelle the battling technique we can see her trying it too and you know, give her to the potential to also achieve 9-star but NOPE. She's just sitting there, looking at frey instead
I'll say it again and again this artist GETS IT. Aria's development in terms of her elegance and her sense of fashion has been on POINT. One of my pet peeves is when the MC is regarded as "most beautiful" but the art doesn't communicate it.
Usually the side characters just keep blindly praising the MC for their “beauty” when reality the just look mediocre to the reader. In those stories there's nothing really unique about MC's facial structure that would warrant such praise. Or worse the MC is mediocre in a world of ugly side characters (just to make her look good).
This artist managed to differentiate the MC and clearly display her unique beauty without forcing the side characters to look bad. A+ I say!
What he did was equivalent to rejecting a girl you don't like and falling for a completely different person since their personality is more attractive and suited to you. Yeah, the way he rejected her before was rude as hell but don't forget... Alphonse wasn't exactly prince charming either.
He ignored Chloe, didn't care for her or her needs until the switch happened. He was a bystander. Are they really so different? Alphonse had close proximity to her and a contract marriage already in place, so he ended up liking her first. That's it, he lucked out and essentially won the romance lottery.
All that being said, the prince needs to respect that Chloe is a married woman and he missed his chance.
