I'm my opinion its not even about trying to get them to be lovey dovey. Its about how they get through their problems together, individually and how much they start changing for the better because of each others comfort and reassurance in ways that they understand (like when xi put jian yis head on his shoulder while holding his hand for a second before he went to talk to the girl, etc.) Its so heartwarming to see how they fix their hardships together and just seeing them happy in one little group makes me so GWAHHHHHH (▰˘◡˘▰) ┗( T﹏T )┛
