it's not because he is a male character. it's because his character is shit. so it's not sexist it's realistic. personally I don't think to her admitting defeat would be 'dishonor and humiliation far worse than death'. Considering the mentioning of the game being hyper-realistic, her reaction and that guy's facial expressions it's without question he wants to hurt her in-game in some way. The cue here is 'hyper-realistic'.
