Can someone tell me what the hype around killing stalking and painter of the night is?? Not trying to start a fight, but I'm just curious as to what people like about it. Because for me they're just kinda toxic... and it's kind of boring.. but i respect y'alls opinion though!! please let me know!!
I think the reason why its so popular is the fact that it is toxic. Twisted but mixed with spice. Both stories are quite unique in their own ways and the story telling for both of them is good too.
Ummm... If u r new in yaoi land then you'll find yourself get hooked to them fr no reason... But, if u gonna read them after reading a lot of good stories then you'll found yourself not get hooked to them.... Cuz,, in start people didn't see what they r showing is a wrong doing....

A lot of people will tell you that KS is really well-written... Though I don’t think the writing is shitty, it’s not genius or great either IMO. It’s too dragged on and they are too much unecessary sex scenes. Several twists were not really unexpected, the mommy issue is not something uncommon in thriller for exemple. Speaking of which, you can find way better thriller / psychological works. Compared to others BL, KS is well-thought I guess but outside of BL it is really average
POTN: I actually was really hooked during the first season... Yes, there were some issues. - when it comes to the writing, too much sex scenes (not really necessary), the subplots get developped too slowly;
- for the rest, I glossed over the rape, not because I enjoy it (big no no) but because I thought the story was owning its fucked up aspect. You can’t say the rape was much romantized at first because the characters didn’t have feelings for each other yet.... There were a lot of symbolism in the Art, I thought it was foreshadowing something interesting
But Nakyum fell in love with his rapist and it doesn’t make much sense at that. So yeah the potential is now over, it’s just the cliché stolkhom syndrom.
There were a lot of writing issues in season 2, no progression whatsoever in any aspects.
If you want a well written fucked up story read Madk
I don't read killing stalking, but for me, Painter something is like any other uke in yaoi: "I don't know why, but I feel warm. He's mean but he's kind" like that??? Lol. Welcome to yaoi.
Idk about painter of the nights it's pretty boring to me too but ks is rrly interesting (the plot) it's just horror u see and that's attracts a whole community

ik a lot of people argue whether ks is considered a bl or horror so... i guess it's up to the reader to decide... i think it's because i viewed it as a bl, that's why i didn't really like it.. cuz i couldn't FEEL THE LOVE SDFJVNAS THATS CRINGE BUT YK

Maybe they gain popularity because their themes is not like the other BL. It is fucked up but the fact that the two stories are "fucked up", it really gets to their curiosity, thus, started reading it which later on become famous.
