I'm surprised no one seems to think as I do
Honestly, this makes me uneasy
They put such an emphasis on 'offer anything but your life,' and it's bothering me. I'm sticking around because I hope she grows to be more greedy, ambitious
She's told to do something, and she just does it.
When asked what her value is, she says it's her own person, she'll stay loyal to him and would be willing to give up everything (except her life. Not admirable. Stupid.), and I keep thinking, 'honey you're just feeding his hero complex.'
They're not partners; she's his subordinate
And I've read stories like that, but never when the dynamic actually matches the idea. He's really sitting here telling her he'll give her a reward, and that she shouldn't disappoint him, and like a good dog, when a situation arises, she's worried she'll disappoint him
When she first came to his house he was like 'Are you really afraid of HER' and I'm still sticking around, waiting for him to be afraid of her.
But so far, whenever she does something, he just laughs, smile, because he knows he got her under his thumb. He knows she doesn't want to get out of that position, and he thinks she cannot get out. He fully intends to use her until he doesn't have any use for her and probably then let her go. If he falls in love and wants to marry her, I'll still feel uneasy, because they're the worst couple. They don't give this duo energy. They give this boss and subordinate energy.
So I'm just waiting for 2 things, and I'll actually really like this
For her to do something, because she wants it, not because it would help him
For him to be terrified of her once, to actually feel like she could be a danger to anyone. Acknowledge her not because he'll use her as a joker, but because she's strong enough that anyone doesn't have a choice but to acknowledge her including himself
ヽ(`Д´)ノ
At least i know what i like in a story
Another thing i hate is how they always assume she's a pawn...
And she actually is.
Bruh
She's a pawn who'll become a queen bruh
Who wants that though?
She's not active either in the pursuit of a crown, or for anything really
I mean, he assumed she'd like any path he'll choose for her, and she does, happily following
I know he's the "good guy" and her hero
But right now, it feels so uncomfortable to know he's basically behind everything in her life
(I mean, i feel uncomf abt that)
I figure the whole concept of pawn to queen is that one is unhappy with their position and wants to be the master of their own destiny
And it doesnt look like it's going there
