In the novel, out of 180 chapters [I think], the ml and fl will start to realize their feelings for each other. Like 3/4 of the novel. More than halfway through. They had to learn to love themselves first before loving each other. So it took time for their relationship to improve. It's a longgggg development but It's so wholesome.
I'm literally loving the character developments, reactions, and plot.

But the possibility of the death of the ml's parents are probably not done by fl's dad.
There's a 50% chance that the father [fl's father] got there late after a big assassination or fight. Resulting in ml's parents dying. After Demon King arrived at the scene, killing all the left over enemies, ml comes out and sees Demon King drenched in blood. This results him thinking that the one who killed his parents was the fl's father.
NOTE: it also mentions that due to Ah woo's skills, fl's dad killed his parents [early chapters]. So with that in mind, the fight in this prediction probably started because they also wanted his[ml] skills for their own benefit.
If he and the ml's dad got along, it's not reasonable for them to kill each other. I mean it's not impossible. But if they had a good relationship, they'll be willing to help one another.
With that in mind, the fl's dad is the demon king. So it's reasonable for ml's parents to refuse his offer of using ml skills for next sect lead.
But this is just a possibility in my opinion and what I think.

And the parents relationship escalated too fast their kids did not even know anything about it. The parents are in the wrong here. Sometimes things are just not meant to be. However they are related by law.According to a site I read, since step siblings are not blood related, they are free to legally marry each other. But I want to share this information and see if you can find a differen, even if it's a little. If you don't like the fact they are still, in fact, step siblings, I will not be offended. I’m not sure if this also applies to other countries but in mine, the parents (in-laws) are allowed to get married even if their children are married, but the children (in this case, step siblings) are not allowed to get married once the parents are married. I know my explanation sucks but here’s how it relates to the story. It’s legal if Dongwoo and soojin get married first before their parents do. It will be one big happy family. But if their parents get married first then dongwoo and soojin are not allowed to get married. In cases like these, they should just tell their parents that they’re dating and ask to get married first then proceed with the parent’s wedding
i think you're totally right it's totally their choice , if they're not related by blood i see no reasons why they can't be together well i support their relationship even if their parents get married and they become step brothers. they should be given the right to choose whom they want to be with .. cuz they are themselves first and a member of that family later well it's just my opinion, if you disagree, I'm really not sorry
