I think Doosik knows that Juha needs the pearls to pay off a debt to the restaurant owner from the last chapter where he overheard it, and is helping Juha get more pearls since Juha helped him out when he needed it (give him food and a pace to stay). He hasn't told Juha that he knows about the debt which is why he's acting confused about the pearls in this chapter.
