My OTP finally becomes canon, but right off the bat, they run into issues. Kae is taking advantage of Mutusmi's kindness, though knowing her, she probably doesn't even realize it. She's new to relationships, so she's bound to make many mistakes along the way, but surely she should know better to keep a promise? It's kind of disrespectful how she prioritizes her anime event over visiting Mutusmi's grandpa's grave. And really, she didn't HAVE to go, but she SAID she would go, which makes all the difference.
Looks like she has a love-rival, too. If she persists with the whole "I'm-going-to-put-my-boyfriend-second-over-everything" attitude, he's going be snatched by that boy.
I hate when Yaoi authors tease the idea of switching like it's such a rare far away concept. I could appreciate how open to change the seme was (unlike the typical macho asshole that fights to keep his seme role), but watching as the uke got intimidated and chickened out almost immediately reallllyyy got my eyes rolling. Sure, there are times when I personally prefer a character to be an uke and another character to be a seme (or the characters themselves having their own preferences, which is fine) but I really hate how a lot of yaoi authors seem to give the message that you can only fall into one sexual role.
Let us rejoice because this is one of the few, rare instances where the main character wises up and chooses the nicer, more deserving boy for once! I am so happy! My ship became cannon!
I'm so glad Serinuma was straightforward with her feelings, too. So often I will see main characters lead on others when they clearly have feelings for someone else. I am proud of her!
Great, great manga.
Yet I can't shake the awful feeling that the reason was beacuse of the suspension bridge affect ( ̄∇ ̄")
It's NOT really a suspension bridge effect cause Kae was not the one in danger.
It's more like she realize how important Senpai was when his life was in danger.
Nice as this manga is, did it have to shoe in one of the most annoying shoujo cliches? I hope it doesn't drag on too long. This is one of the rare times I actually LIKE the friendship between girls in Shoujo manga. DON'T RUIN THIS FOR ME, AUTHOR-SAN.
And did anyone else find it weird how Nana brought in another student to deal with Himari's condition instead of a teacher? Like I get you're trying to set up the whole jealously dynamic-thing, but come on! It's standard procedure.
I'm sorry, but I couldn't even finish the first chapter. I don't know what's up with shoujo manga and its obsession with student/teacher relationships, but a MIDDLE-SCHOOL STUDENT and a teacher? Please tell me that's some sort of mistranslation. That makes her a pedophile. And what was with the m.c being all "I support you in your love??" No, call the cops.
You see there is no such thing as authority or consequences in the manga world that's the beauty of it
No? I'm not against there being messed up shit in manga, but if your setting out your manga to be realistic/slice of life-y, then the character's actions/reactions should align with that.
