male leads are never fleshed out. yeah they get a backstory that’s usually sad boo hoo shitty parents, they’re cold and mean bc everybody was mean to them, what the fuck ever. basically, they don’t exist outside of the mc’s orbit, they never have a life outside of their romantic one, it’s a bore!
jaeshin’s story and life is so fleshed out, i realized i was accepting SCRAPS of character writing in all these other fic. his complicated relationship with his brother, and stepmom, his upbringing, being a half breed and how it was isolating no matter how much his family reached out to him, even the ghosts and spirits he bosses around in his dog form! it’s all so good and makes so much sense, and the story develops outside of JUST the romance. there are other characters in this world who do make an impact and who do have lives. it warms my heart seeing his brothers get along with his lover (chapter 77) like i love these characters!
damn! they breezed through all the struggles in the first chapter; he got a crush on a guy, realized he was gay, became a member of the legbooty community, and started working in the same place as his crush. if this was any other fic, they would’ve dragged this ur lol i really like this already!
