there was actually a reddit post a read a while ago that told someones own experience doing something like this and the person thought they actually invited a demon into their presence or something like that. i remember they went to a priest and when they explained what they did and what was happening they looked very surprised and worried. what they explained was that every time they would look into a mirror, they would see the distorted face and it got to the point where they saw it everywhere there was a reflection and even in person i think. it was terrifying to read and it messed them up pretty badly.
moral of the story: don't try anything creepy involving mirrors
