'Painter of the Night' is also a good one. I think seme's got a major trauma behind him.

I don't like seemingly pointless violence and abuse in BL, so I promise, both of these have very plausible scenes and reasons for violence.

I don't like pointless violence and abuse in BL neither, but I contradictory think it's important to show the ugliness of it. It gives people a glimpse of the nightmare. And the happy endings gives me hopes for myself. The feeling grows stronger when the story gets brutal. It's what I'm looking for atm (˘◡˘)

I think that phrase from your mother is correct because that is quite a rare case. As a gay person I get triggered when someone one makes a gay joke ngl. Not those funny comedian jokes but more of those, "ew you're so fucking gay." "ew that's gay." "wtf you act so gay." Please don't even get started with the word faggot or gayfag or homo. But I hate it when straight people keep trying to use the word gay as a joke. Okay I'm done ranting.

When I lived in the Midwest, the boys did that and said “no homo” afterwards. The girls also said similar things to each other. Like, “Honey, that skirt is too short I’m distracted,” or “Um, are you showing shoulders because Imma stare at you all day.”

Then I moved to where I currently live (California) and they say “gay” as an insult.

In all honesty, I thought California would be more liberal than the conservative Midwest. Who knew? ┑(￣Д ￣)┍

You got it wrong. They don't joke about gay people, they joke about having gay sex. Nothing about gay people, they just imply that they ate their friends butthole. Like my father had to operate his hemorrhoid, and people must have spent a month writing down ideas because whatsapp was intense that day. Things like "are you reforming the rear to take in one more guest?" Or "broke down before expiration day due excessive usage", nothing about gay people, but about having anal sex.

Hahaha we never say no homo! As for girls, we are pretty honest to each other, like "same you're hot, I might even fall for you". My country is huge so I'm not sure if that happens only on this state or all around, but my sister's boyfriend even says "I'd turn gay for that guy" when he wants to say the guy looks good.

OH NO LOL, I mean that I'm okay with those jokes FYI I just realized how dumb my comment sounded when I read it again. I'm okay with gay jokes honestly, but I just don't like gay insults.

Although my sister's boyfriend is an oddball. Most of them joke around taking each other's ass all day long (father is specially persistent, he's like a kid who just found out what anal means), but they won't say the word gay unless asked. Then they'll claim hate guys. I did tell them once that they sounded more like gays than my gay friends. They surely do think about other guys butthole way more than open gays. I really don't understand them.

Haha don't worry, I don't like when they talk about gays like that neither. I can't even call that jokes. Sadly, thanks to our """"""dearest President"""""" who is super homophobic those jokes are coming back to life. No matter how much they joke about gay sex, we still hold the higher number of homicides of lgbt people. But in my family it is not accepted. Unless you want to be tongueleashed by all sides until they break down crying for mercy, if they have homophobic opinions they know they better keep it to themselves.

So one point clear, this is not the usual thing all around. Thank you guys so much, it always bothered me to no end.

I'm gay too and my advice is that you should try to own it (for your own good, gay insults are not worth your energy and mental well-being)
When they say "ew that's so gay" just reply with hell yes or you got it
Sometimes that even stops them from saying that in the future, so who knows? Try it sometime, if you'd like :)
