I love it when people don't read their contracts lols and it's true with publication, author and adaptations. JKR have a fairly creative control on Harry Potter series in HBO but there are some rumors that she sued Warner Brothers for changing some part of the book in the movies. Well that's some additional for her though that's her rights as the original author.
