I LOVE how Elise knew what she wanted and disregarded a life of complete luxury and lax in order to chase it. Even in the face of emperor, she was confident and showed certainty in her dreams. There aren't a lot of strong female characters in this genre so I really treasure her.
However, even as a doctor (and especially as a surgeon), there are bound to be times of failure and honestly, I wldve liked to see more of that. At the beginning, I was always put on edge during the operations because I didn't know whether or not the patients would make it out alive, but later on, it became boring bc Elise wld succeed every time. Also, during the epidemics, for all the lives that were lost, there wasnt much grieving or sadness. I feel like this downplays the value of a life and how stressful/heartbreaking her job truly was.
The main plot of the war between the princes was there, but it seemed like it was in the background of the story. To me, it didn't feel as important or suspenseful as it shldve been.
As for the ending, if I'm being honest, it was alright. I'm satisfied with Elise and Linden's relationship, but I'm a sucker for revenge and so I wldve liked for Michael's mother to be beheaded.
All in all, this is a gem of a reincarnation story and I wld 10/10 recommend.

Yeah exactly. T2 Ruve didn’t do shit, FL made a choice no one liked but T2 Ruve still gets more hate in the end.
I dropped this at chpt 27...
- pacing was too fast and made it seem like it was written by a 13 yr old
- dialogue seems forced
- events don't flow (i lowkey got whiplash from how abruptly the scenes changed)
- character development was rushed
- all the important events up until chpt 27 was only brushed over
Bottom line: This cldve been good but I feel like it wasn't portrayed well.
