From what I remember there’s two couples that the story focuses on. The first is a couple that already live together and are in their 30s or something. I remember that one of them is an author and is pretty, with long hair sometimes having people mistake him for a girl. I don’t remember much about the other guy besides him smoking I think? Basically the story partially focuses on their domestic life in an apartment, no overarching story. The second couple involves a man who moved from the city to the town the first couple lives in, and he becomes their neighbour in the apartment. He’s startled at first but then becomes friends with them and becomes more open minded. As a result he starts a relationship with his new coworker who I remember wearing a striped suit, and I think they first kiss at a party while someone blows out candles. I remember really liking the art style and writing. Sorry that this is such a generic description, hope someone can help me find it (-_-;;)

I’m looking for a Yaoi manga, and Google isn’t much help. From what I remember the plot is in high school, and a boy is dared by his friends to ask out a popular guy from their grade who despite being confessed to multiple times has never had a girlfriend, resulting in them joking he’s gay. The popular guy rejects his confession but wishes him luck but the theory that he’s gay is true. After this they become friends, and the boy, not knowing popular dudes sexuality, vows to help him find what gets him off which results in them having a strange relationship where they help each other masturbate... it sounds kind of bizarre but I remember it being really sweet and wanted to re read it, I’ll be really thankful if someone can help me find it again!

I clicked it and got March of 2012! Some great series like Haru wo Daite Ita and Love Mode popped up. Such a difference to the recent top stories listed right below, which are almost exclusively webtoons. There were also some wild ones back then lol like Sex Pistols (which is STILL ongoing!!)

Oh, I started reading that a while ago, but I think my expectations were different than what the story actually was so I never finished lol. I should go back to it now with fresh eyes. Jazz music is a big part of the plot, right? Have you seen the anime adaptation and would you say that is better than just reading the manga considering the music?
Thanks for the recs, half of these I'd not heard of before and the others I'd mostly forgotten about! IKR, a bit insane to think of series like Sex Pistols and Junjou Romantica which used to be considered kings of the genre and now have dwindled in popularity despite still being active (at least online that is not sure abt the readership elsewhere).
If you liked Green Spirit I was also reminded of Life Senjou no Bokura while looking through my read list, I think it has very similar vibes.
