Am I the only who lowkey still mildly dislikes the emperor Like girl tried so hard to be acceptable and all dat shit. She was a child and experiencing all that alone, she ain't no reincarnated hoe who got over it after a few chapters. No it literally shaped her into who she is now, conscious and a somewhat insecure person. Her story hasn't ended so we KNOW she'll suffer more. I get y'all felt sorry for bro but eh c'mon, he knew what he was doing when she was js a kid and now that he realize he'll lose his daughter he is changing nd alldat. The reason why I love Phil is because she recognizes her worth, what she went through for 16 years of her life won't change after her abuser is being gentler. There will always be a scar left behind that no amount of 'gentleness' can fix. She knows this, she knows her worth (unlike other fls) and chooses to not forgive. Not because she wants to be cruel but because it deeply hurt her. Also some people comparing her to Penelope, I would like to point out that Phil is experiencing genuine familial love, people who never hurt her so deep that changed her for 16 years. Penelope ONLY had families that hurt her, she doesn't know what it felt like for a family that doesn't accuse her of robbing, calling her names, treat her like a nuisance, starve her etc. I guarantee you if Penelope had a 3rd family she can go to where everyone was supportive and unharming, she wouldn't think twice before leaving them. She would never forgive them, but sadly that's the only family she got and is use to. I don't know why they are comparing different situations to each other.
