From the research I did back in the days: there are two translations. One is official, but from what I’ve read, it’s not too good? The translators apparently translated certain things with an emotional weight that suits their interpretation, skipped over certain phrases? Idk, something like that. There is this fan translation which is infamously good since the translator is obsessed with this novel and put A LOT of effort into catching all the details and everything BUT the translator is a bit… excessive? Well, it’s their work ofc, but they require you to buy the chapters off the official korean website, provide proof that you did along with your identity and even THEN they said that they need you to somehow prove that you are trustworthy? And if they deem you unworthy of receiving their translation, they won’t give you access to it anyway, even if you follow all the steps lol
That is... A new level of insane dedication that's actually impressive. To be a fly on the wall of that translators house...
True, the type of insanity that you can’t help but respect. I think I might actually try to access it in the future when I have adult money. Because the translator literally spent YEARS on this and they still reread the original and make some corrections in their translation, this is how much they love the novel. And the reason they require you to buy the korean chapters is also because they want the author to keep being rewarded for their work. But it made me give up on ever reading the novel, not gonna lie hahah I can’t read the official translation knowing that a masterpiece like that exists…
do yk the name of the translator? or how i can contact them? id like to know if they deem me worthy of the translation or not

Their most recent update is from 2022 and it's them saying they won't be accepting anymore new readers and should just wait for the Official English Translation or use MTL on raws, so i guess that would be impossible to obtain. Seeing that i'm reading on Mangago, I really don't have money to buy and read on the official sites.

Taeseung taking care of his mother should have been in the main story instead of it being shown in the last bit of the side story, they could have had replace Minhyuk's sob story about him and his sister with Taeseung and his mother since Minhyuk's story didn't matter to the plot at all. It was just the author's favoritism, i am tired of it.
Should have explored Taeseung's feelings about his mother and his adopted father, y'know since he is the protagonist after all.
Anyways, i am happy to see Taeseung and Sooyoung together! My beloveds.
Facts.
We all know that the author had a preference for Minhyuk and forced his participation into the story when in actually it had no relevance to the actual plot. If anything, just contributed to Sooyoung’s trauma. It would have been more interesting to see the emotional/mental development of Taesung with his story around his mother. But oh well, at least the author finally got wrapped things up with the third wheel and won’t make more extras with him.

i think minhyuk and his past did matter, just in a different way. his past made him believe that ppl in positions of power see those less than them as just passing objects of whimsy, and he was just another piece to be used. the ahjussi and sooyoung made him see that kind ppl are still out there in the world by protecting him, so he reciprocates by basically saving sooyoung almost every time something life threatening happens. no offense but taesung was such ass in so many parts of the story that sooyoung would've died like 3 times over if it wasn't for minhyuk.
but more importantly, it shows that no matter how much minhyuk tries and no matter how terrible taesung could be, sooyoung would still choose taesung. it really minimizes his contributions--ALL of them--to the point that his rapist-ass doesn't even get a footnote about assaulting sooyoung when he's mentally incapacitated. the vibe is very much, yeah you can save me you can fuck me over but you matter so little to me that it's not even registered on my radar. which is kinda ice cold.
minhyuk is technically the nice guy of the two (in very angry quotation marks mind you) but it's used to highlight how much sooyoung seems to really like his toxic bad boys.
