Knotting doesn't occur in the werewolf trope everytime they have sex. Usually it's when they have alot more of an emotional connection or during a rut/heat.

I was thinking that too. It's rare to see it in graphic form but it's pretty common in literature.
You see more visuals of it in Omega then werewolf.
Most of the info I have comes from my personal writing experience in Yaoi since 1998.
It happens more In omegaverse visually than werewolf so if it's the knotting you're looking for I would suggest checking out some omegaverse.
I mentioned this above but it's rare for me to come across it in werewolf but you do see it a couple times in omegaverse.
