The range and data is insignificant as there is no control variables and only one set of data is procured. He did not fully explored possible tests such as; doing it with another person, interviews with a large sample of espers and guides, heck, he didn't even fully define what constitutes as promiscuous behavior.
In conclusion: I say, he does it again, possibly multiple times to see if there's a correlation. Extending it to using other subjects is also recommended (optional).

Wow, I'm on Nine's side this time. Despite Melissa's plan sounding like a foolproof plan with no room for errors, I can still see things going wrong with this plan. For one, we need to remind ourselves that the setting of the story is one where magic is a thing. From that alone, Peacock is capable of doing something to the poison so that Melissa actually dies and with his wealth and connections nothing is out of reach. I think Melissa still sees everything from a reader's perspective, and that's why she can suggest such a plan because she's confident she won't die with the assumption that the world follows the original plot in its core (major red flag).
What Melissa told Nine is the equivalent of me telling my dad that he should travel back home because there's a vaccine for COVID already. Just because there's a vaccine doesn't mean you're immune.

I don't know how hyponsis works but I assume you tend to have hazy memory and often get confused of your actions when you're out of it. I get frustrated at how she correlated things like check your memories and remember if there are inconsistencies or questionable moments you normally wouldn't do. Just, please for once think it through instead this linear thought of "Oh, he hypnotized me that's bad"
