Everyone needs to stop blaming Youngmin. And don't make this issue anout him being male. This has nothing to do with gender. This is the fact he was a rape victim. He was under the influence, and the professor took advantage of him, even lying and saying it was consensual.
With the rumors going around about him doing compensated dating, it was even more difficult to open up to anyone, especially when he thought he was in the wrong. Its not easy for people to speak out with these issues.
I know a lot of people are going to dislike and not agree with me, but I actually prefer the MC ending up with Hyun... I understand the author gave us a whole storyline with Minyul x MC, but throughout the story, little things about Minyul bothered me.
These little things reminded me of partners who get manipulative and obsessive. While he isn't too forceful at helping the MC with his memories, and declaring their relationship. But from the last few, recent chapters he seemed to want to deny those memories from the MC. Especially with his ex, instead of properly explaining, he just goes to say he was cheated on.
I don't condone cheating whatsoever, (and I understand that he could potentially be protecting the MC from collapsing from remembering too much, but not likely), but it seems like he struggled to explain and wanted to only leave it at him getting cheated.
Anyways, for Hyun... I understand why he can cold, and rude to the MC. Besides being the stereotypical tsundere- character, he's the MC's childhood friend. So MC was in Taekwondo, but couldn't do it anymore and that's where all his guilt comes from. So he pushes the MC away despite having feelings for him. The MC finally understands this and doesn't want Hyun to feel bad and guilty. You can see he cares for Hyun... (possibly more than friends?) But because of his memory loss, he has no specific sexuality. He thinks he's straight, but has some moments of finding Minyul and Hyun attractive.
We know how the story is going to end, but hopefully there's more interactions and plot to properly address Hyun x MC.
I actually agree with you as well!!
Minyul is scary... he did not hesitate to injure seulbee severely and the thing is, he didn't even confess. he had a guilty conscience, sure, but he lit his brother take the blame and locked him away.
he's borderline obsessive. he would make the MC feel bad about interacting with other because he'll act all sad and sulky, completely manipulating the MC and practically taking away the MC's chance at actually focusing on his studies. especially at this moment.
right now the MC should be focusing on his future seriously. especially when his family is struggling bad financially. he has wasted years at that cram school but now's his chance to get the motivation he needs but minyul took that away from him! he practically sold himself and the MC to some shady pyramid scheme company JUST SO THEY CAN BE TOGETHER MORE OTHEN! how mad is that?!
not to mention more shady bits that are yet to come. like what he saw in the stalker brother's apartment. it's obviously hinted that minyul has been dating people with similar faces.
at least Hyun genuinely cares for the MC with no shade or tea. he's rude but best friends treat each like shit because they can be unfiltered and comfortable with each other. also, he keeps the MC rooted and makes him stay focused. he's the logical and rational counterpart needed in the MC's life. I'm rooting for you Hyun (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ (even tho I might drop this lol)
I wished that the author just put more of an emphasis on how creepy minyul was and gave their relationship less development- especially when the MC is just gonna end up with Hyun at the end.
TL;DR, Minyul's dodgy and borderline manipulative. Hyun keeps the MC down to earth and is just an overall better match. the author could have done a better job at conveying the theme of the story.
Finally two people with common sense, if the MC ended up with minyul then he wouldn’t have been very happy in the end.
Agreed!!!!!!
I mean I get it but like I kinda wish it would've been a learning lesson to Minyul as in the MC becoming more independent and them growing together it's just the way it was done bothered me because of the fact that the author just disregard Minyul and went a complete other rout and not try to develop the story as it was going but I kinda agree with you (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜 so no hate :)
I’m pretty sure the cheating part was real... remember that he tried to kill himself after Realisig his own brother fucked his Girlfriend,
Secondly... can you really blame someone for being this borderline obsessive when his Brother literally stole everything he has..?
Also, I do like the Hyung ship but damn it’s too abrupt.
I'm not ignoring the fact that his girlfriend cheated. I am also aware that his brother stole everything from him. But that does not give him the right to manipulate ANYONE. You do not get a free pass from manipulating people because "I had a fucked up past, and my family was terrible". Sure, not everyone is perfect, but at least there are people who try and better themselves.
Can’t argue with that. Had a manipulative bitch as a Friend.
