So I used Google translate to look up Tazune because I didn’t know if it was pronounced Ta•zu•ne or Ta•zune (it’s the former) and it turns out his name means visit, which is very fitting for his place in the story. Tazune was a portion of time in Midori’s life that she once enjoyed, but overstayed. And in the end, he will always be a visit, not a home.
Honestly, this story was so fantastic, and I really like the fact that the author/artist focused on how the main character was surrounded by friends, a lover, family, even her own child in her stomach, yet she felt so alone. Plus, how her fear of being alone influenced her actions and choices into making her feel lonely as well.
You often get characters who are isolated from others, causing them to feel alone, not characters having plenty of people around, but no one viable to run to when your emotional stability starts to collapse. So this story was a nice change of scenery.
All the characters were very intricate too which made me enjoy reading about them, especially Tazune, for some reason. I don’t like his character, but the way he’s built up and written is just so nice. When we started seeing his backstory, I thought, “oh, so he’s someone who suddenly went from being a grade-a loner and outcast to a top-of-the-pyramid person.” People do ignore the fact that while girls tend to more fragile when it comes to emotions than men, that just means they’re more capable of hurting and manipulating others. But backstories will always just be explanations for what happened, not an excuse or an apology for it.
Anyway, sorry for talking a lot, this story was just really good.
Does Leo have his own story where he gets with someone? Because I low-key ship him with that blonde girl (Mana?) so much.
