I love how to you can take from different media to further explain the characters and their actions. A silent voice sort of has this, where they bully to get attention, only to realise the attention hurts others irreparably. Then you have outer banks with JJ’s dad, where kiera says that his dad loves him inconsistently, which basically makes it harder to walk away from because you don’t know what type of person they will be. When you hate someone because they’ve always done bad things, they’re easy to walk away from because you cannot defend them, but with Jinheong’s dad he’s also showed to love him, which creates a complex dynamic that is built on conditional love. But I’m a Cheerleader also has this, where Graham has to choose between being the perfect girl or being a free and loving person and both sides of the coin are complex in reasoning. She gets money, a family, but gets stuck with a man for the rest of her life. On the other hand she gets no money, no biological family, but gets Meghan and freedom to do what she wants and wear what she wants. Jinheong is in this situation but because Song-Rik has no other hand he cannot comprehend what Jinhyeong has to give up to be with him. Then they just exasperate the issue and it gets worse and point is I love both of them guys : (
