If I may I feel like the boss doesn't actually like the newbie but sees him as his ex after the possession bcoz think about it, after his death, he came back to him to say goodbye or whatever. The boss knows he's gone and the newbie's not his ex but nevertheless finds comfort in the newbie bcoz he was possessed by his ex.

I think that’s the most human thing about Sangha. Most minds would draw comfort from things that remind them of their dead loved ones. If my grandpa possessed some stranger I’d be a skeptic at first unless he told me things that only he and I knew about and then spent the whole day with me like fishing and eating foods we both enjoyed then he said goodbye to me and left the stranger then I’d start seeing comfort in the stranger too due to said possession.
Am I the one who's twisted bcoz I really wanted them to end up together. I mean Clark could have saved the Dr if he had romantic relations with Alex because he's smart and clever so just like how he saved himself in the ending by saying whatever he said and it's fiction so it's possible. Nevertheless it was good.
Clark is a Sociopath if I'm categorizing properly. He doesn't feel emotions like love, but also from the very beginning he was only after fulfilling his desire for information.
He was only interested in Alex as the Serial Killer, not in Alex as a romantic prospect. He only put up with him because he thought he was a "diamond in the rough" and therefore interesting.
I don't believe that there were romantic feelings at any point in the story.
The closest thing to affection he felt was for the doctor whom he took Revenge for.
If I'm correct he's actually holding his finger in that last scene.
Him putting away the book which obviously is one of many also makes me believe this isn't his first rodeo.
