Heonjae had a 20 year sentence that was reduced to 10..and has technically four months left which means he's gonna leave first hmmm they can expand those tho

Ch 23 the way Heonjae was talking about cutting and scarring myeong il and jingis immediate reaction was shock and telling him to seek help in a hospital when he's out.. Yea much to think about

Ch 24 so Hyeonjae cut someone's leg in a gym?? Sport festival or whatever that was right and jingi was torturing inmates..+ at the beginning of his first years in prison he was unstable af trying to harm himself in different ways

Hmm what if they're the same ones tho that would explain why the uncle knew what was happening in the prison but idk man he doesn't need them, to know right he can even order the wards to dispose the letters.. i feel like there's some different fucked up shit going on hahhh i need sleep now tho will comeback to this later

This is such a good analysis. Hair is a pretty big theme in the story—I remember heonjae mentioned jingi telling him to grow out his hair bc he was feeling uncomfortable maintaining eye contact with other ppl. So jingi growing out his hair could definitely be some kind of self soothing mechanism for reasons we aren’t too sure of yet… not to mention the blonde streak in myeongi’s hair representing that he’s a part of their room

Hair as a way to make you stand out, protect you, and also isolate you in the process..

Also on the hypersexuality note, it’s really interesting that myeongil himself noted that jingi’s sex drive ties in really close to violence (beating him up and getting borny afterwards). Both probably trauma responses as a way to maintain control through physical and emotional dominance. none of this justifies his behaviors towards myeongil, but it recontextualizes why jingi reacts so strongly to certain seemingly inoffensive things (myeongil saying he felt bad for jingi, going behind his back gambling—more to say on how jingi feels like he’s been betrayed in the past which he projects a lot towards others—etc.) What’s new is that in the latest raws, jingi’s having a hard time with kissing myeongil, even though it’s clear he wants to. Sure, jingi is used to the violence and sex, and maybe has been physically attracted to others before…but to feel like he might actually be attracted to myeongil on an emotional level (which makes sense given how they’re similar in a lot of ways)—that’s something unfamiliar and scary to him.

I think it's also telling that Jingi's personality is completely different when he's drunk (Ch 15-16) — like he's able to kiss Myeongil and make him feel good and is actually pretty considerate. Prison (and probs past trauma) just forces him to keep up a rough/violent persona

Thanks for reading it even tho it was long haha. I feel like a lot of ppl who read this story chalk it up to being gross/weird when there’s so much more to the plot than that. It’s nice to talk to someone who’s also paying attention to the narrative! And ur definitely onto something with the past trauma and being in prison to make his personality do a 180—it’s sad to see that Jingi can only be honest when he’s drunk ://

I mean it is but even the gross/weird stuff have a meaning to it, they show us inner thoughts, interactions and some of the triggers the characters have yep this story is actually extremely deep

Ch 34. Jingi's flashback
Interesting because it's the flashback of him and the noona aka aunt?? He did mention her before, how he would visit her often and this kinda confirms it was back than when he was living with the uncle. the ending was cut off tho..

hmmm the suspicious talk about pictures from the flashback came up again, aunt tells the children that she takes pictures of grandma's and grandpa's at the hospital which is obviously a lie

Ch 39 the brothers meet again + the teacher.. i assume Heonjaes first relationship with the teacher happens after they meet again

Ch 40 our boy is sick hhhhh what a chapter lol he called jingi hyung for the first time!! honestly is it important? Probably not but i enjoy their dynamic so whatever i guess

Ch 43 Heonjae only has three months left until he gets out, jingi got a cassette recorder/player kinda sus not gonna lie

I was literally reading the raws and was so confused on what could’ve made myeongil that disgusted with jingi but your explanations make the most sense- and the way myeongil is now acting all scared and reserved with jingi makes me sad because honestly I felt like they were building a better relationship (even though it is quite toxic at times) ahhh this story is actually really deep man and the way jingi imagines himself under snow to dissociate when he feels bad and the way that was represented made me think so deeply ughhh

In Jingi's flashback to seeing his mom in prison, he seems hesitant to answer when she asks if he's been doing good. He also hesitates when mentioning his uncle took him fishing and calls an injury he got while with him a "bug bite". Veeery sus.

I really hope we're wrong but it does make sense and I hate it ugh. Everything is sus af there are too many signs
