On one hand, I am so thankful that scanlation teams like gourmet supremacy still exist. I really, really am considering all the other top teams have already dissolved itself. And, in this economy that its hard to pay for little wants like paying for manhwa/manga chapters, their work is a godsend.
On another hand, theirs is not a legal, official translation. And yet they put a watermark all over it like we're not all violating some internet crime here already (i.e. going into an illegal website to browse illegally sourced material). The copyright of the material is simply not theirs so while I did go to their website to browse there instead, I am not sure on where the confidence is coming from that its okay to put their watermark all over someone else's work and I don't mean the translation. I know they removed it after a day or so but it still doesn't seem right to me.
In any case, no hate to all scanlation teams. I was just putting my mind out there just in case some people will have a better idea than using a whole ass watermark on the MC's face. I would donate to help out but I don't have extra money since the holidays are coming up. This is in no way to invalidate all your efforts and I hope I didn't sound ungrateful because I really am grateful and thankful to you guys. In the end, I just didn't like the watermark and how you did it.
I completely agree with you. This is an illegal site, for which we use to read this stuff. The stuff they are translating is not theirs. If they are going to watermark it. Put it off to the side. We will know it's your work that did the translation.

Illegal readers are grateful for the convenience, but when we look at scan wars fighting over projects or entitlement like this that leads to excessive watermarking over something that's ultimately and legally not theirs, it really feels like the pot calling the kettle black.
yeah, but case being the watermarks is to get traction the the website the translations are originally hosted in, to get funding to PAY for said website+developer (since the staff are voluntary). If you're wondering WHY Gourmet needs to host independently instead of uploading in other sites, they've already explained it in their FAQ.
Then they're being pisspoor over resource management when there are plenty of cheaper alternatives. No one cares why they need traffic to their site (we all use adblock anyway).
But that's besides the point. Even if you give people stuff for free, they're still free to complain about it if they want.
Most people who do scanlations, do it philanthropically for the benefit of many. But when it gets beyond their time or paygrade then it's normal to stop. Especially since this series has officially licensed releases.
While the convenience is great, gratitude and morality are two different coins of discussion and you're barking up the wrong tree.
One is morally obligated to express their gratitude and here is where scans people are not getting enough of due to reposters. I'm not saying you're wrong, but since you too are reading this version in places where the scans group didn't want it to appear, there's no chance we will agree to anything so I think we're done here.

I respect your perspective, but you're right, we will never agree. Putting morality and scans in the same sentence is something I'll never agree with because it's absolutely inane.
Gratitude is never a moral obligation, and putting stolen things out on the internet should never demand gratitude. They may not have wanted it here, but that sentiment doesn't belong to them, it belongs to official creators.

I don't know how to process this. This is like when my favorite book series ended but worse because there's no conclusion to her story; there's no payoff to her stuggles. Not to mention her friends. What will happen? Are they ever going to be happier?

I think its so refreshing that my first thought when Ukano left Sachio bleeding after "trying to actually eat him" was: "wait, Ukano has been a green flag over all, I don't believe he actually did that". Cos, normally, I would've thought that the ML is trash but oh well they're still gonna end up together because FUTURE PLOT. It's nice to have a precedent of good behaviour in an ML instead of constantly just hoping w/o one proof of it.

Same. I rlly didn't believe Ukano attacked him on purpose and that maybe, just maybe there was a misunderstanding. But nope, Ukano did lose control and almost ate/killed Sachio. It is not grooming when Nerys herself thinks her actual mental age and not her physical one. As said in the earlier chapters, just because time turned back doesn't mean her exp isn't valid. Meaning she thinks of herself in the age she died in.
Also, the black haired guy with the awful name isn't grooming her when it's evident in their dynamics that he lets her take the lead in most interactions. Now the damned white haired guy? That's grooming.

Read the manhwa again with open eyes, and then try to understand their body language and the way they talk and think, ESPECIALLY the ml. Just cuz they don't verbally say it, and be direct like "UMMM, I LIKE YOU ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶", doesn't mean nothing is happening. Ig your just that clueless and dense, but it's clear as day that the ml is falling for her. It still does not change the fact that he met her when she's still a freshly 12(I forgot her age, but I'm guessing around 12-15???) yrs old, then next is in the process of FALLING INLOVE, and then when she's legal, the ml will finally make the move. Just cuz the ml and fl date later on when she's older, doesn't change that they met when she was a KID, and he's over here with his big age. I'm guessing you haven't heard anybody say something like their grandparents met when she was 16, and he was 21. Even if they "officially" dated when she's 18, doesn't mean the feelings weren't there when she was still a minor. The ml is still a fucking weirdo, and a huge red flag.
