All of this is purely my opinion so don’t take everything to heart.
I wish this was in Lupert’s POV so I could see what he’s thinking sometimes. Also, I just noticed a lot of answers to Larriet’s questions have already been said in this manwha. I’m just going to keep a clear, objective head through this, because this is purely just what Larriet thinks. I can’t say for sure that everything she says is true. It’s obvious that she is ignorant about a lot of things.
She does not even know why her father and brother were beheaded, and concluded that it is just because Lupert is insane. That alone made me realize I can’t trust every opinion she has. At the beginning, the gossip revolving Tory being killed because she’s a spy is probably true, in my opinion.
When observing Lupert’s behavior as a child, and for his reasons for nearly killing Larriet right now, I don’t think he would just kill “innocent” people for no reason. “I don’t «have» to kill you” he only kills those he needs to. He was only going to kill Larriet because he thought she was a spy. Considering his position, it’s fair. And that was a “have to”
And also when Larriet overheard late at night with her father and some other men discussing the “we have to do something” sounded really suspicious to me. What are you going to do against the emperor?
Neutral nobleman? Neutral nobleman my ass. That man is not neutral. It was also very suspicious at the beginning, when she was talking to the Luis Baden guy. She was speaking disrespectfully to him, and she describes her father as someone who is very strict with manners, but he smiled at her. I doubt it’s just “because of the kisses.” I think he has something against the emperor? Just the imperial family in general. In addition, talks with her brother Lehan. He obviously knows something way more. Way more.
Larriet thinks her father was neutral, but I have to disagree.
I don’t think that her family died for no reason. I think that her father was planning something huge enough that it was considered treason. No, not just “considered” is. He probably did commit treason, and he thought he would get away with it but was caught. His whole entire family had to pay the price. Maybe the brother was in on it too.
Also, the emperor killed his family members except one? They were probably planning something as well. Arnulf already doesn’t seem to like him. I don’t know why he left Princess Nigel, but it’s probably because she didn’t know of whatever they were planning.
In conclusion, my opinion, is that Larriet is just super ignorant of her surroundings. Leading her to believe that Lupert is crazy. And that Lupert didn’t just go “crazy” but killed all those people for a good reason.
Larriet was probably the only innocent one.
I don’t like the father.
Lupert is an asshole right now, but I don’t hate him.
