Why do you THINK then that abusers both in real life and fiction can so easily push the blame onto their victim by claiming that they are in the wrong for not telling them things properly? The abuser gaslights (yes, Edgar is gaslighting her peeps) their victim and the victim is always in the wrong no matter what they say and, actually, even if they don't say anything. This forces the victim into the even more untenable position of navigating the temperament of the other party (or employing more emotional labour) while the abuser can just say whatever tf they want in so called 'communication'. And the fact that people are so eager to show how mature (read: childish) they are by claiming that both victims and abusers are in the wrong if they don't talk just reinforces this point. Ew.
