All the angst just to end without resolving anything and communicating what needed to be communicated to each other. It's all only in their heads. The part where they went "Why didn't you say anything" and "Because you never tell me anything either" was such a crucial turning point that should have been concluded later on with improved communication later on, but no, the most they did was say I love you.
If the throne was such an important institution to maintain, how come the prince got to leave the palace without any conflict whatsoever? I truly feel that this should've just been porn without plot considering the amount of sex they had without communicating properly. This could have gone better, considering they meant the world to each other...
